Speaking as  someone who has a lot of experience with the airlines and their hiring standards, she has about a zero percent chance. There is a good possibility she won't even be able to gain her ATP rating from the FAA. If she gets the tattoos removed, and does everything possible to bury her past social media accounts etc, she might be able to get on as a corporate pilot with a commercial rating without having to get her ATP.

I agree !  it's too much . Also never really cared for her much . She tried to set up a fight with Tazzie Colomb once . Who is a sweetheart and a legend . She knew Tazzie had no bjj , ground game experience . But thought it would look cool to beat a big fbb with her bjj . Kind of low

I do vaguely remember hearing about that.  What was the reason she tried to set up a fight with Big Taz?

Not sure but remember she was trying to set it up . my guess is that Tazzie being a big fbb , would look like a good match . But she knew Tazzie wasn't a ground game fighter . So her being a bjj player would make it look easy . It wasn't a fair match . Believe she also challenged Afrika which made more sense

I'm sure she was looking at it from a business standpoint. A video of two popular and powerful woman going at it would be a big seller.

A friend of mine explained this to me once as "The Bobbi Battista Test".  Airlines (and most other companies that deal with PR) will stay away from controversial figures in the event that person becomes the center of a news story.  The question was always "How would this look if Bobbi Battista were to report it on CNN".  It wouldn't matter if her past has nothing to do with an accident or incident.  Just the fact that she has that easily searchable past puts it in the limelight if something bad were to happen.  She has a lot of social media opinions that might not be considered "OK" by the PC police.  And depending on what happens she could easily be painted as the face of that airline.  I'm not saying she isn't entitled to her opinion but in the day and age of instant media gratification her past could come back to haunt her and her employer if something were to get her name in the spotlight.  Another friend and fellow pilot has been trying to get into a major airline recently and they won't touch his as he has a DUI on his record.  It was over 15 years ago and he was barely over the limit.  He's been sober ever since.  Doesn't matter.  That one DUI basically ruined his chances at getting into the major airlines (at least the one he wanted to get into).  Unfortunately social media exposure has had the same effect.

Somehow the thread about DD wanting to become a pilot is just sad from my personal view. Having ink on your body or being part of some sort of adult industry is neither criminal nor disqualifies you from being a pilot. The US should still be a free country and I cannot see how these things would prevent DD from doing a potential job as pilot.

I agree.. being inked has no bearing on your ability to fly. But commercial flight has a public relations/public confidence aspect to it. I understand why the airlines are concerned about the appearance & history of their pilots. I don't think it has to do with personal freedom or a moral judgment, it's more about the airlines wanting to maintain a clean-cut, calming appearance, etc.. Same reason they play light music at the dentist office.. it's not a condemnation of heavy metal. It has a calculated, relaxing effect.  Just my take.

If someone wants to be a nonconformist, then they should be prepared for people to not conform to their nonconformity. Also, the "wreckless" driving doesn't help.

perceptions matter. there's a reason lawyers wear suits and ties. even if you think it's stupid, people respond to how you look. she's made certain life decisions that have long-term consequences.

I met her several years ago and she steamrolled me. She outweighed me by at least 50 pounds, while being shorter and much more muscular than I am. She has a black belt in jujitsu, and is exceptionally strong. She crushed me and overpowered me. She didn't have to use her jujitsu. I've rarely been beaten that completely and effortlessly. She is also very dominant. She kept on the pressure long after I had stopped resisting and had accepted my fate. After she finished steamrolling me, she peeled my flattened body off the floor, and put me in a rear naked choke. She asked if she could knock me out to end the session, but I politely declined.

Absolute beast of a woman. I don't think there is anyone as strong and as skilled as she is. She knocked me out with her calves, her thighs and in a rear naked.
