Wait hold on, you guys seriously pay them with envelopes of cash/cheques?

I have never done that

I usually write something cute on the envelope like <bulkette's name> Roth IRA.  Produces a laugh.  ;)

I always pay up front. I always carry the money in a white envelope, and when we greet each other and settle in, I make sure to hand the envelope over to them.
I have never tipped, although I have occasionally given gifts.

Going back to the original question I think it's really gotten me to look back wonder. Typically for sessions I would pay cash and when you ask a session lady which they would prefer in my experience most of them prefer the cash because it saves them on either having to go and convert money into the American dollar or it saves them on fees from a digital financial service providers and being tracked.

I've actually had session ladies tell me that they were kicked off of certain things like PayPal and Venmo because of the amount of transactions and issues with the rules and regulations for each independent company.  Cash is King unless they're a younger person and culturally have gotten into the idea of everything being digital.  Using an envelope is a bit classy I would imagine.

In terms of giving a tip, I think that particular issue varies. If you're seeing a person that's steeply overpriced or someone that's on the ultra high end of what people ask for in their industry, for me a tip is typically off the table.  But I would depend on your financial status, if you're some rich person, then I guess tip away...

But I've actually seen women who virtually still charge the same thing as they did back in the late 90s or early 2000s.  For these women a tip is something that I usually do. Some people I have session with for so long that they have become a friend of sorts and I can tip them with either gifts or taking them out for meals, etc.

But typically a tip and this arena is for someone who goes well above and beyond what you expected, and you've had such a great interaction with them that other interactions with other women pale in comparison, those people deserve a generous tip.
