Skinny

Stephanie checked herself out in the mirror and had to admit she liked what she saw, Her reflection was remarkably different than the one in the picture lodged in the corner of the mirror frame. In that picture, taken 10 tears previously, right before her high school graduation, was a diminutive figure in horn rimmed glasses with coke bottle lenses.  Twiggy arms clutched several books to an awkwardly flat chest and spindly legs protruded from a knee length skirt.  The image in the mirror now told quite a different story.  Now those books would protrude several inches from her torso due the reservoir of thick pectoral muscles and full breasts that had developed since high school.  The twiggy arms had evolved into massive 16-inch guns, and the skinny legs were replaced by cannon sized thighs perched majestically over thickly muscled calves.  She almost decided right there that the vision in the mirror would be the one to appear at the door of her 10-year high school reunion.  But that would never happen, for she had other plans.  So the short skirt was lengthened to just past the knee, dark hose covered the powerful calves, and a long sleeve sweater with a high collar clasped at the throat covered her glorious arms and chest.  And of course the contact lenses were ditched for her old horn rimmed glasses with extra thick coke bottle lenses.
When Stephanie first received the announcement for the reunion she had no plans on going.  High school had been tough on her.  A lot of the kids called her "Nerdy Girl," which, based on the picture was not much of a stretch.  She had a few friends from those times but they had all drifted apart to the point that she wasn't close to any of her former classmates.  She was also fairly certain that none of the 2012 graduating class of Riverside High would even recognize her.
It was not until the second notice arrived with a list of confirmations attached that she changed her mind.  Right at the top of the list were five names that brought back awful memories, Bob, John, Will, Jim and Barry.  The Fab Five as the called themselves, the most notorious members of her graduating class.  Bob was Mr. Wonderful, captain of the football team with a bevy of cheerleaders at his beck and call.  John and Will, the twins who were good looking and new it.  The two had a knack for always getting in trouble and an equal knack for charming their way out of it.  Jim was a massive offensive lineman with several Division 1 scholarship offers until an injury late in his senior season ended his playing career.  And finally, Barry, the hanger on, whose sickening praise of the other four allowed him access to their sacred circle.  The five were inseparable, driving to school together, playing football together, going to parties together and of course bullying the other kids together.
All the kids endured their injustice at some point but for Stephanie it seemed a daily occurrence.  They were the ones that coined the term "Nerdy Girl" and they screamed it at her whenever she was in earshot.  They were also responsible for numerous cruel pranks:  tripping her as she came around corners, books flailing in all directions, offering her rides, then peeling away in screams of laughter as she approached the car and other endless juvenile antics. The final indignity was Bob asking her to the prom, her joyous yes and his hysterical screaming "April Fools!"  The Five really got a kick out of that one, backslapping and catcalling as they walked away from the forlorn teen.  The heartsick girl walked across the hall to the payphone and sobbingly called the only person who would listen, her mother.
Her mom was very supportive, but Stephanie was sure she could never truly relate.  Instead of being a twiggy unconfident nerd, her mother was a tower of strength, both physically and mentally.  Jaqueline was a not only a brilliant businesswoman, but an Olympic Gold medal winner in swimming and the heptathlon.  She used to joke that the reason there was no women's decathlon is because the men were afraid she would beat them.  As a child Stephanie would watch in awe as her mother performed various feats of strength.  She could bend a 2-inch steel bar into a pretzel with her bare hands.  She could place a quarter in her navel and crush it with her abdominal muscles.  When the jack broke on her father as he was fixing a flat tire, Jaqueline proclaimed "We may not have a jack, but we have a Jaqueline", and proceeded to lift the car off the ground and hold it aloft until the tire was safely changed.  Another time at the beach two lifeguards got caught offshore in their rowboat as a powerful rip tide swept them out towards the open sea.  Without hesitation (and to the dismay of horrified onlookers) Jaqueline crashed into the surf making a bee line for the stricken boat.  She caught up to it about a half mile offshore, tied the mooring rope around her waist and turned towards the beach.  What a figure she cut as her chiseled body sliced through the current, propelled by muscular arms and powerful kicks that roiled the ocean behind her.  The ripping current was no match for Jaqueline's jaw dropping strength and she steamed ahead with seemingly little effort, towing the fully loaded rowboat behind her.  At a reception later that evening to display his gratitude, the mayor of the resort town bestowed upon her the key to city, an ornamental skeleton key about 14 inches long, solid steel, with gold plate.  The mayor bet her $100 that she couldn't bend it in half.  Seconds later she was not only a hundred dollars richer but possessed the only key that could open locks around a corner.
How could this heroic female possibly relate to the coke bottle glasses wearing 90-pound weakling?  What her mother said surprised her, "Honey, I was just like you in high school.  I didn't play a single sport until college and didn't enter the Olympics until I was 28.  Like you I worked out all the time but never gained an ounce of muscle.  In college all that changed, and I added muscle and strength at an alarming rate.  We come from late blooming stock.  Don't worry, keep doing what you're doing, and you will come into your own in due time."  Her Mom's words were comforting but in Stephanie's current condition, she had a hard time believing it would work out the same way for her.  But, as usual, Jaqueline was right.
Just like that, Stephanie decided to go.  Nerdy Girl was going to back to Riverside High to exact some revenge.
As Stephanie drove up to her old school her anxiety increased.  The taunts of "Nerdy Girl" echoed in her head and she started to freeze.  "Calm down," she told herself and drew a few deep breaths.  With her left hand she reached across and grabbed her right bicep.  Under her sweater she could feel the solid bulge of the hidden muscle.  With each flex it tightened and hardened, her confidence growing alongside it.  After one more deep breath she sat ramrod straight and announced, "Ok, that's it, let's do this!"
Stephanie picked up her badge and headed into the gym which was fully decked out in reunion regalia.  On her badge was her graduation picture which, like the one at home, bore little resemblance to the girl wearing it.  Although carefully covered up, her breasts were much larger and certainly visible even under the loose sweater.  Although cloaked in dark hose, everyone could see that her formerly skinny calves were much shapelier and upon close inspection, quite muscular.  Most importantly, she had grown 3 inches taller and in the heels she chose for tonight, she was taller than many of the very same boys who used to tower over her in high school.  Nevertheless, the picture did its job and soon she was chatting amicably with fellow graduates who, with few exceptions, had aged a great deal more than 10 years would suggest.
The guests of honor had yet to arrive and Stephanie feared her plan would go awry. A full hour into the reunion and no sign of the Fab Five.  Just as Stephanie was thinking of abandoning the entire effort there was a commotion in the lobby.  Jim kicked over the registration table sending plants, drinks, and ID badges flying.  Bob roared behind him, "We don't need no stinking badges!"  The Fab Five had arrived.  Barry raced ahead to the bar, grabbed two liquor bottles and as many beers as he could carry and charged back to the table that the group had quickly commandeered, scattering its former occupants like leaves.  After downing the beers and most of the liquor the quarry went in search of prey.  Stephanie was amazed that so many of her classmates were still in awe of these guys.  John and Will quickly picked out two girls and headed for the dance floor.  Bob approached two former girlfriends, whispered something, and they immediately jumped up, pairing off with Jim and Barry.  Bob was in less of a hurry and set upon working the room.  He repeatedly approached classmates and upon ascertaining their identity, delivered a caustic barb or some other slight.  As the music ended Bob wandered back towards his table and was joined by his cohorts.  Stephanie seized the opportunity and headed towards their table.
Bob saw her first.  "It looks like Nerdy Girl did some growing up.  Care to dance with the Homecoming King?  "Sure Bob," she said, I didn't think you would recognize me."  "I always recognize my prom dates," Bob bellowed, "don't I fellows?"  The condescension in his voice caused her neck muscles to tighten almost ripping the collar on her sweater.  She did all she could to regain control.  "That was a close one" she thought.  In order for this plan to work she needed impeccable timing.  But his attitude coupled with the snickers from the rest of his troupe absolutely convinced her that she had made the right decision. Now it was just a matter of time.
Out on the dance floor the DJ had selected a slow song and Bob squeezed Stephanie tight. He rubbed his rapidly growing erection against her skirt and brought his mouth right up to hers while his right hand reached behind and tightly squeezed her left butt cheek.  "Jackpot" she thought as she faked a little whimper and whispered in his ear, "Let's get out of here!"  Bob took her hand and led her out of the back of the gym and around the corner into a long hallway lined with lockers.  His breathing was getting heavy as she wrapped her arms around him while delivering a powerful embrace.  She stepped back and removed her sweater revealing her arms for the first time.  His eyes widened in amazement at the chiseled biceps and forearms with rivulets of muscle.  "What the? Gasped Bob but before he could finish she said, "Want to see what they can do?"
And with that she swung her left hand and caught him in the chest.  She lifted him off the floor and drove him into the lockers with enough force to crumple the lockers inward.  With her right hand she grabbed the top of one of the locker doors and bent it over his head.  The metal screeched in defiance, but her strength was such that the locker kept bending and squealing, pushing his head further down into his shoulders.  Bob punched and kicked in retaliation, but his blows were of little effect.  At one point he was able to get both hands around her throat but the bulging neck muscles that had nearly tore through her collar moments before resisted his futile attempts.  All the while Stephanie kept bending the locker door ripping it off its hinges in its downward progression.  Bob's head and neck twisted in abnormal directions, concussing his skull and rupturing innumerable blood vessels until the air flow interruption caused him to black out.  Stephanie could have easily snapped his neck at that point, but she simply loosened her grip, dropping him to the floor like a sack of potatoes.
The lockers appeared to have been struck by an earthquake.  Several doors on either side of the epicenter were bowed and twisted in unusual angles.  The damage ranged from moderate to severe the closer one got to the epicenter.  In the impact zone itself, the destruction was complete.  The two locker doors closest were completely blown out of their frames and stood at 90 degree angles to their original positions.  The top hinges were ripped from the frames and the doors protruded into the hall precariously hanging by thin metal tendrils at the base of the lockers.  The frames themselves were mangled into unrecognizable lumps of grey steel.  The door that Stephanie had used to crush Bob's head was bent into a tremendous arc.  The top of the door was twisted 180 degrees so that it now faced directly towards the floor.  The bottom, compressed and lodged into the back of the locker itself formed the base of the arc.  The once smooth surface of the door exhibited dents and pockmarks were Stephanie had crushed it against Bob's skull.  Had Bob not been comatose, he would have been impressed with the damage his body was able to inflict, albeit with some assistance.  Stephanie would have also liked to pause and admire her artwork, but unlike Bob, her night was not yet over.
John and Will heard the carnage in the hallway and peeked around the corner stunned to see Bob on the receiving end.    Stephanie spotted them as she was dropping Bob.  "You boys looking for some action too?" she glowered as she approached.  Will threw a right fist at her head with sinister intention.  Without even flinching she raised her left hand and caught the blow before it could strike.  Utilizing the awesome power of her forearms she squeezed his fist crushing his fingers in her vice like grip.  His fingers made a succession of popping sounds as the bones broke one by one.  With his free hand, Will pounded on Stephanie's chest creating a dull thudding sound but otherwise having no effect.  Stephanie kept crushing his fist twisting it in such a way so that his wrist bones popped through his skin producing a geyser of blood and tissue.  The pain and shock were overwhelming:  Will crumpled to the floor unconscious.  While Will was enduring his agony John reverted back to his high school football days and charged Stephanie with the intention of knocking her off her feet and dislodging her grip on his brother's hand.  He lowered his head and drilled her mid-thigh.  The speed and force of John's charge would have easily sent an NFL linebacker sprawling, but Stephanie didn't budge.  For his part John felt like his head made contact with a steel plate and he bounced back landing squarely on his bottom, dazed, but still conscious.  Having dispatched Will, Stephanie turned her gaze towards John, and said, "I can see you're a leg man, want a closer look?  Not in any condition to answer, John muttered something incoherent while Stephanie instantly swung her legs around and caught his torso in a scissor hold.  Although only semi-conscious, John was aware of the searing pain as the massive thighs crushed his chest and back.  Instinctively his fists pounded against her thighs but they could do no more damage than his head had.  As she continued to squeeze, a series of popping sounds ensued as John's ribs snapped away from his sternum.  Once his lungs completely collapsed he coughed up a profusion of blood and phlegm as he too fell unconscious.
"3 down, 2 to go" declared Stephanie as she surveyed the lifeless forms slumped on the floor in front of her.  She started back towards the gym but before she could take two steps, Jim appeared around the corner.  "You boys are making this easy for me," Stephanie pronounced, "I guess I should thank you for that."
Jim always had a quick temper and seeing his friends sprawled on the floor at Stephanie's feet brought him to a rapid boil.  "Who do you think you are bitch?" he sneered as he balled his right fist and brought it towards Stephanie's midsection with concussive power.  The blow landed with devastating impact, although not the result Jim was anticipating.  Jim felt a massive resistance and thought his fist had somehow missed and hit the reinforced concrete block wall immediately behind where Stephanie now stood.  His assumption was right and wrong at the same time.  Although the punch landed squarely where he aimed it, he could not account for the fact that the corded muscle interlaced throughout Stephanie's abdomen was as dense and unyielding as the concrete.  Jim's irresistible force was no match for Stephanie's immovable object.    His knuckles shattered on impact driving the bones in his hand backwards cracking and dislodging the wrist bones.  Further up, the radius and ulna bones in his forearm bowed outward at grotesque angles tearing the tendons loose before dislocating at the elbow socket, ripping through his skin in a torrent of pulsing blood and lacerated flesh. The effect on Stephanie was far less dramatic.  Although she had been hit with enough force to stop a semi, she barely flinched and was only able to register a slight tingling sensation where the blow landed.  The sight of Jim staggering before him clutching his useless arm was exhilarating.  She said "You took care of the right arm, now I'll take care of the left," and with that she grabbed his left arm above the elbow and gave a mighty tug.  The resultant pop echoed through hallway like a rifle shot.  Jim's shoulder tore from the socket with enough force to break the bones in his upper arm and shoulder while tearing muscle, tendon and ligament away from their shattered remnants.  Jim screamed and slumped to the floor in agony.  His body convulsed for a few moments until his eyes rolled back into his head and he lapsed into shock.
Barry heard Jim's scream and tore around the corner only to see his four friends strewn about the hallway floor.  He immediately sized up the situation and fell to his knees begging for mercy.  Stephanie realized that other than crushing John's ribs, her legs had so far inflicted little damage.  So with a powerful thrust from her thickly muscled thigh and calf, she drove her foot into Barry's prone upper leg snapping his femur while popping and tearing the tendons and ligaments in his knee.  Barry's whimpers were extinguished by a sharp cuff from the back of her hand to the side of his head rendering him unconscious as well.
The hallway became eerily quiet with no sounds coming from the limp bodies.  Although all five were alive it would be a long time before anybody would call them Fab again.  It was also anyone's guess as to what would heal first, their bodies or their egos.  Five former football players dispatched in less than a minute by the "Nerdy Girl" using only her bare hands.  These are the kind of things that cause people to leave town, not that these guys weren't going anywhere, anytime soon.  From across the hall she recognized the old pay phone she had used 10 years before to call her mother.  Every high school kid now used a cell phone yet somehow this ancient relic survived.  She debated calling her mother telling her how right she had been ten years earlier.  She quickly decided that kind of gloating did not go over well with Jaqueline so she calmly strode up, removed the handset and tapped out 911.  "911 operator, what's your emergency?"  "There's been an accident at Riverside High, you need to send 5 ambulances."  She dropped the handset and let it swing at the end of its cord. She began to walk away as calls of "hello, hello," emanated from the unattended handset, echoed down the empty hallway.   Suddenly she thought, It is time to put this phone out of commission, permanently."
She gripped the top and bottom of the phone with her two hands and delivered a powerful squeeze.  The thick steel phone began to bend and twist in her mighty grip releasing a metallic squeal.  She began to pull the phone toward her, and the sound of the squealing metal was joined by the grinding sound of cracking concrete as the phone was being pulled away from the wall.  Her super-human muscles continued to bend and pull the doomed payphone as the noise rose to cacophonous levels.  Finally, she let out a powerful grunt, delivered a massive final tug.  The phone tore away from the wall and the concrete let out a tremendous crack as it shattered into thousands of pieces, while a giant spark poured out the now gaping hole as the power supply was severed.  "I was not expecting that," thought a surprised Stephanie as she stood there holding the horribly twisted and bent 100 pound phone with one hand, while gazing into the large crater she had just made in an impenetrable concrete wall.  She lifted the phone over her head with both hands and began to pull the two ends together.  The metal squealed in futile protest as the two ends came closer together.  The bulging muscles in her arms and shoulders looked as though they would burst through her skin as she bent the solid metal nearly in half until the coin box on the bottom of the phone split in half spilling its contents of nickels dimes and quarters on the hallway floor.  She walked over to Bob and dropped the phone on his lap.  The heavy steel carcass thudded onto his hips adding to the list of already serious injuries.  It would be so easy," thought Stephanie, "to just reach over and snap his neck with my bare hands."  Instead she just said, "here you go Bob, why don't you call your prom dates?"
