To be completely fair, there's a whole load of unnatural stuff happening in my story "Your House", which the mom part is a clue as to what's going on (though I can't actually explain it without giving away the story and ruining the surprises in store).

But on the whole, I'd say it's not uncommon for Maternal power dynamics to be part of many different niches. And I think it's just an uptick in ours.

As for other stuff I like to see, I'm a fan of shifting gentle dynamics (not really dom stuff, but more expression and leeway in the relationship, a la "give and take"), which I like writing. I'm also keen on how said power shifting is applied socially. Not just women getting bigger/stronger, but also using that to make things more favorable to them and theirs. Maybe a story actually focusing on the concept of what it takes to create a family line, the importance of community and how one person can really make a difference in a community. Without falling into the ploy of needing to excuse actions in order to "keep it hot", as it were (cause from what I've learned from writing The Sandow Family, it's more about the quality of the writing than just spraying everything out there for the sake of satisfaction without actual payoff or resolution).

I think it plays into power dynamics, older woman able to overpower younger man, plus throwing in the taboo nature of it just makes it more exciting. Same with younger sister taking down older brother.

In non incest stories, I'm always up for a wife getting stronger than her husband. I also like the mousy ignored girl gets jacked and shows up the snooty 'hot' girl by stealing her man (actually I'm playing with that in the latest installment of my Grandma Anne series). Similarly the muscle girl steals her sister/mom's boyfriend. And I like any story where the woman uses her muscles to arouse a guy despite himself (I think that's another attraction of the mom/grandma story, the guy is getting excited even though he knows he shouldn't but can't help himself).

I personally dislike stories about monstrous muscle women who act like abusive men do in real life.

It's a fetish for sure but it's for me more about dynamics. Instead of some random woman it's someone male protagonist knows well. It's also a lot easier to have already existing bond instead trying to write entirely from scratch. Like personally son losing to mom in a wrestling match (in story) hits different than to lose to some other girl since they are related and it could be argued that boys best friend is his mother. It is also that mom represents a mature lady instead of a young girl they are fully grown and overall more experienced in general. It's also what you can relate to that makes story standout like I personally don't care about sister stuff.

When it comes to the actual kink/fetish I think older woman dominating youngerman is more interesting because it's unexpected. And like a mom showing her deep motherly love by fulfilling sons fantasies. Also it's wild yet still playfull in a sense, wrestling is quite silly unlike UFC which is just brutal (I don't like when it goes too far, I tried it but not a fan). Also the taboo element is important. I like it also because son is getting aroused from something he shouldn't but can't help himself.

With granny and son stuff it's mostly similar an older lady overpowering younger man, they are related, care for each other and there's the taboo element. Differences being that there is not the same bond a mother and son have. But on the upside the powerdynamics is even more unexpected since granny is mom's mom, losing to granny is even more unexpected naturally, there is similar but even more taboo thing going on. Also part of it is that granny is supposed to be frail, weak and off putting (since people lose their look as they are that old) but instead the granny is the complete opposite really muscular, really strong and skillful and goodlooking which also relates to the power dynamic thing.

It is really complicated topic.

Agreed.  There seems to be a lot more of it lately.  We've all got our kinks (it's why we're here...) but no matter how good the muscle description is, the mom/grandmother stuff kills it for me.

It's also a lot easier (for me atleast) to write about a mother than a random woman. I don't find it outside of ethical boundary since I am writing on fictional characters. Also I personally feel like there's a connection with mom/grandma/sister stories that is not present in other stories. It's not just about the sex but about the relationship and power dynamics.

But you also have to keep the meaning and messaging behind the types of characters you chose to write in mind, too.

For example, take Superlurker's Little Miss Massive. It's decently written, with a clear focus on characters getting big at the start. But once it stopped caring about dynamics and what the characters represented in the story, and instead focused solely on the gratification angle of the story, it devolved into just a series of sex scenes involving animal people with exaggerated body types having sex as "the next wave of humanity". Just mountains of flesh with no personalities beyond "get bigger, must fuck".

Contrast that with bertmacklinsbrother's Conquering Vinland. A solid story about a character's struggles to gain respect and power, having to earn the favor of the Aesir through various trials, with the culturally valued prize of strength as her reward. It's an incredibly focused tale, remembering its core values and what the central meanings and messages of its protagonist, Freydis Eiriksdottir, represents. Relationships are not just based around the surface conceptualization of power dynamics. It's an ever shifting tide of bodies in water, which I think is a far more interesting idea for that type of story.

Going back to my story, titled "Your House", I'm using the inherent issues of familial themes in our shared niche of fetish with the dynamics of Desmond, his sister Desiree and his mother Laura, as a fulcrum for the inherently unnatural situation he is now in (because Incestuous stories, while quite common in fetishistic material, is still a very taboo and unnatural situation). The story is, at its core, a rather overwrought Speculative Sci Fi Horror story inspired by the pulp paperbacks of the 60's and 70's discussing the distinctive presence (or lack thereof in regards to actual feminine interpretations of our fetish) of Feminine Power and its presentation. Because we have to be completely honest here, there is a distinctly masculine overflow when it comes to female muscle stories.

While I wish it was really all about the idea of relationship and power dynamics (something I actually cover quite often in my stuff, like in Blockbuster and The Sandow Family), you'll more often find it's about the perverse nature of the situation that writers will use relationship and power dynamics to allow themselves, and thus readers, a safe avenue to explore. It's okay to admit it.

Also, to each their own. I'm not gonna tell you what is or isn't to be written. "You do you, boo" and all that. Just don't write something and expect everyone to want to read it. Cause everyone's got content limits (I actually don't like incest stuff myself, it's just there as a plot point in Your House for the extremely eagle eyed reader because there are actual clues as to what's going on if you pay very close attention to the social cues the characters are conveying).

I like both powerdynamics and the taboo stuff. I try to focus on the dynamics but it's really hard that's why i'm writing these, I try to improve and check what works for me and what doesn't and what needs improvement etc, you get better by only writing more. I don't expect everyone wanting to read my stories and I too have my own limits.

For me my favourite thing about these kind of stories is not the sex itself (although I like it) but the idea of a female relative overpowering male protagonist. Like I genuinelly get more excited when I write about Mom vs Son prowrestling match than writing about sex.

something else I'll mentioned that no one will touch on- Mother/family member is very easy to write. I'm not calling people lazy, its just that much easier. Having to write out two characters and interact from scratch takes a lot more writing. Or at least it should, often its meet and greet at a gym and bam, instant work out porn. Nothing wrong with that though. Its just a setting that places less stress and effort to worry about.

I'm more particular to stories where's there's details. Kinks aside, writing is a medium that if the author doesn't put into words what the reader should picture in their minds- Well then obviously something's missing. Repetition is also something I've seen a lot.
