Sometimes there was a look, but they never said anything.

These were sold in newsstands that also sold porn mags, so they were probably used to people buying
odd mags.

Ha ha; I probably bought 50 or more muscle related magazines from 1986 to 1994; Muscle & Fitness = not much reaction. Female Bodybuilding and Women's Physique World = some comment by the clerk every single time.  I would actually ride my bike to a liquor or drug store a few miles from home to avoid accidentally running into someone I knew.

As most of you probably experienced, almost every comment was rude, sometimes things like, "that looks like a guy" or "do you like girls like that". I would answer honestly and say "ya" but didn't interact much.

Only one time, a younger girl clerk actually said, "wow, she looks really good"; she was probably a couple years older than me, but it was refreshing to hear, it was when I was buying an issue of Female Bodybuilding Magazine, I think it was that hot, Buff Australia chick on the cover.

So anyway, always a reaction and usually negative ...oh well still, bought em...lol

WPW
Up until WPW came on the scene I was glued to IronMan for inspiration.  WPW gave our stories.....the girls with muscles.  I LOVED to read those stories.  I thought: "Great other girls like me born with muscles"  ( I figured all of us were naturals ! )   Bill Jentz and Steve Wennerstrom?...two of the most enthusiastic promoters of female body building you'd meet.   They burst with enthusiasm.  For me they were so supportive when they did my photoshoot.....   I think of those times and I smile.

The dress BEFORE the pink stretch dress.  This one came out of Steve Wennerstrom's girlfriend's closet .  ( little did she know...she was out of town at the time ) The shoes were probably hers too ! LOL

lol Alison,

I always thought it was odd that you girls always seemed to be wearing the same outfits.
I thought Steve would switch it up and buy some more...but he was busy spending all his extra cash just bringing us fans the magazine.

Out of curiosity, did you girls get paid to model, or was it just to get in the fitness magazines ?

Thanks!
jim
