Virus-related cancellations

I agree I think a lot of those dates are cancelled and they just didn't put list the cancellation - NY which is probably the most visited city by session providers is also unfortunately the most hit by the virus- I do not think visiting NY at this time would be wise- also as for the comment about someone trusting person to not come if they are sick is very risky - one of the big problems is people feel fine for a few days and don't even know they are carrying virus -  I've been doing sessions regularly for probably 15 years - but my last session was early March and I don't see myself doing another one for at least a month - unfortunately probably longer - I'll reassess as more information becomes available

Taking a look at wb270, there are people on tour this month already. I'm not sure how wise or responsible it is to meet with those people right now, but if you're looking for a session, there are women who are touring.
The girls look like they are on tour on WB + SG, but I believe most simply didn't cancel the dates on there.

Some I'm sure just didn't cancel the dates, as you said. But there are a few others who have clearly rescheduled new dates (also in April or May) and there was someone on SG who stated that she's healthy and traveling by car.

Think many of them will find that hard as well since many states now are starting to cut down on non essential interstate travel. I love to say that sessioning is essential business but regrettably lt isn't. It is something that can wait for a few months. I feel terrible for the sessioniates but their long term health is top priority.

On a separate note - the Arnold was one of the first major events cancelled in this country it just didn't get the press the NBA did when they cancelled about 1 week later- b/c bodybuilding obviously doesn't get the same mainstream coverage -but in retrospect - Ohio governor was ahead of the curve

Agree though many governors (but not all dammit) have been moving quickly on this and getting ahead of the curve. Many states have been moved much faster and been much more proactive then the feds on this.

The Arnold isn't happening though in the fall either. My guess is even by then the CDC guidelines will still be in place when it comes to large gatherings plus people won't be able to travel so freely. Perhaps they can have the competition without most fans but Arnold as already said he wants the full expo which I agree with. Plus I don't know how bodybuilders will be in true competition shape by then either. Gyms won't be open to this summer (and even that might be a bit skittish) and while they can stay in shape at home, training and diet is going to take a major hit over the next few months. Don't see how they get in competition shape by then.

NOTICE: Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and consequent states of emergency, quarantines, travel restrictions and social distancing measures adopted in many countries:

WB270 will not be posting new travel that begins before May 1, 2020

This date may be extended, depending on the situation.  WB270 will continue to post travel cancellations for currently schedule travel before that date or rescheduling of visits before that date, as well as travel after that date.  Moreover, WB270 advises against doing any wrestling sessions anywhere that social distancing measures are in effect, since wrestling inherently involves very close physical contact.

WB270 will continue to post new travel and rescheduling dates beginning after that date, although, as noted, the date could be moved back as events develop.

Lorimer and Co. were definitely smart early, but the messaging was a little mixed ("go/no go", "yes on athletes, no on fans", then "fans OK, but only for night show", because of how little everyone knew at the time and how quickly guidance was changing.  They did a great job.  I don't think it makes any sense to talk fitness expo vs the NBA, but the Arnold draws about 250,000 attendees while SXSW draws about 300,000.  That's your comp, but because of all its media ties, SXSW is more nationally known than the Arnold.

I live in Florida, and I really think that Governor DeSantis had some sort of Faustian bargain with The Florida Chamber of Commerce to wait until end of March to issue statewide ban. And that ban still allows churches in person as usual, which is very irresponsible. Florida is kind of fucked up... hence why we export all them Florida Man and Woman stories!

Governor DeSantis should be tried and convicted of manslaughter when this is all said and done.

Beyond being absolutely ridiculous, such a notion simply isn't supported by any data we have. Florida isn't even in the top 10 states for infections per million. This kind of thing needs to be discussed rationally, which isn't happening much anywhere.

artax

Actually they had Arnold competition - just athletes and limited number of spectators - I don't think they would have 2 competitions- so I guess just full schedule next March

Florida's testing is absolutely abysmal which is saying something considering how horrific it is across the country.  Miami is testing only 300 people per day at a time when they are finding out 25% of cases are being passed along by people who are asymptomatic therefore the CDC did a complete reversal and are now recommended everyone wear a face mask in public so that you don't accidentally pass it on to someone else.

I hope for the citizens of Florida that it acts like any other virus and isn't as effective in heat/humidity but there is no proof that it does yet nor is it absolutely certain this is seasonal. The hope is we get a reprieve over the summer and therefore can be better prepared for the second wave in the fall but some public health officials are not even certain the reprieve this summer is coming.

That's only at one site in the city, there are many other private sites offering tests by now. In any case, if there were a massive influx of cases into the hospitals they would be tested and added to the count, that hasn't appeared yet because FL never got an initial wave of visitors into the area like NY did in January before China started being 'somewhat' honest about the virus. As of now there's a massive falloff between what NY state is dealing with and even the 7th or 8th most affected states.

Table this to the end of the month since Florida is only a few weeks behind where NY will be (about to hit their peak) and has done zero preparations as the Governor from Jaws hides underneath his desk praying a miracle happens like the feds bailing him out but that isn't happening since the federal government is no longer a functioning body.

It's uncomprehensible how many people are still taking this so lightly especially some politicians.

boyofwinter

You can't project based on timing and number of cases in a given region, it just doesn't work that way. FL and most other states are behind the most affected states on the timeline for the reason I mentioned but there's no reason to expect the number of cases to parallel those other regions, it could happen but it also could be very different. SOme might scoff at the notion, but FL is actually being much smarter about things than NY was if you rewind to what NY was doing at this point. Time will tell.

I really appreciate all of your feedback. This is an interesting discussion. Please share thread with other session clients, and girls too. Would love to see the girls' perspective.

abracadabra

Most girls are reasonable and laying low for the time being. A few are in a bind or just irresponsible and trying to do sessions anyway.
I'm abracadabra. I created ark, uxello, uxiel multi accounts on Saradas to manupilate reviews but moderators banned all my fake accounts.
I understand that if I create another fake account(s), modearators will ban me permanently from Saradas.
