Scarlett Johansson fan fiction – The Ghost In The Shell party
by Chameleon

The party was her first public appearance since Ghost In The Shell premiered. It was the first time she got to show off her bulked physique. Though she'd trained up for roles previously, had learned new physical disciplines and sculpted her body accordingly, she'd never before taken to weight-training with quite such aplomb. With her newly blossomed size and strength, she was only slightly short of being a bodybuilder.

Scarlett strode into the club feeling like the superheroine she had portrayed on screen. Shoulders broad, bared to the warm night, her naked back a wide-V, strong and impressive. The glittering halter could have been custom designed for a woman of such proportions. Notoriously busty as the world's media rarely let the public forget, suddenly becoming equally notorious for a physically resembling the actions heroines she'd been playing of late was quite the complementary thrill.

Shoulders were in fashion this season – apparently. She'd read it in a random glossy on the plane over, together with a sidebar citing her as one of the instigators of this new trend. She realised that she must not have kept her newly widened extra assets quite as concealed during the shoot as she'd thought.

Feeling strong and in command in a way she rarely did at such events, Scarlett strode into the party like she owned it.

Jon Pallid had tried to blag an invite through the press junket. He failed, these days everyone was already onto him, his exploits too well known and too little regarded for anyone to want to associate – even those who claimed to loathe the celebs they were supposed to idolize.

So he'd broken in instead. He wasn't too proud – he'd do anything required to get the shot. His cameraman too, his camera digital, HD and connected live, transmitting its signal rather than recording it. They can't steal the film from out your camera if it's being streamed on-line – can't suppress what's already out there.

His latest was a prank-show: social experiments and celeb-baiting – candid camera for the 21st century. He'd grown up on Jackass and learned everything he knew from social media. His "butt-grab" routine was always popular, scoring more views than anything else he did. The temptation of adding Scarlett Johansson to his collection was simply too great to resist. Even if her people beat the shit out of him afterwards.

And what a butt! Seeing her sashay past him was distracting indeed. Her dress was backless down to her waist. Just a few inches lower and he'd really have something to film. But the dress was cosy enough to make a feature of those buttocks, round and tight, every bit as shapely as in her younger, fuller days. There's a danger when a woman aerobicises her body to such a degree that she'll lose her feminine curves, but if anything, the excessive exercise had only added to her second most glorious asset.

He signalled to his cameraman and then moved in, catching up to her and reaching his hand down and forward.

With a kind of guttural yell, Scarlett responded on instinct, snapping his arm with smooth precision. Her fight choreographer would be proud – the execution of the move was flawless.

A scream. Then her husky voice, genuinely concerned. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean... Jesus you scared the shit..." And then, only slightly more angry: "What the hell were... Hey are you OK?"

He was on his knees. A whiney, raspy, "my arm, what have you done to my arm?"

And it was this phrase that immortalised the moment. It's what vicious wits looped on youtube, it's what stand ups kept quoting as they relished riffing on the subject. Social media was crazy for it, hashtag 'my arm' denoting just deserts. Commentary declaring "she snapped it coz it was where it shouldn't be,", "you're just lucky she didn't rip it right off,", "the sound of one arm clapping." And T-shirts, a stylised take on the moment she grabbed him and twisted until the bone broke.

He tried to cash in on his own notoriety anyway but he was too much the figure of fun to benefit. He also tried to claim to be the first man to ever have his arm broken by Scarlett Johansson but it turned out he was trumped there too. Instead, a stuntman got his own fifteen minutes when the incident of an accident on set came to light.

"Yeah," the stuntman said, good humoured. His arm was still in a sling. "She underestimated her own strength. And I underestimated it too. She's actually a lot stronger than she looks, and, seriously, you've seen her these days? She already looks plenty damn strong. My fault really, I told her 'don't hold back.' And, well, she'd really didn't! She performed the move perfectly and I went down. I'm not faking that in the movie, she really took me down. But as I dropped I heard the bone go. She just held on a little too long, a little too tight. And I couldn't have stopped her if I tried."

After Jon Pallid had been arrested and taken to hospital, Michael Rogue walked up to Scarlett Johansson. She smiled at seeing him. She looked at his arm, the sling, and pulled a guilty expression.

"How's the arm?" she asked, looking apologetic.

"You're really making a habit of that!" he laughed. "I'm fine. A lot better than your latest victim."

"Did you see it?" she asked.

"Yeah. Impressive move. I taught you well."

"You certainly did."

"What gets me, he sees you – in that dress – and doesn't even notice your back. How can he not notice a back like that?"

She grinned, flirtatious. Keeping her eyes locked on him, she turned around, showing off the backless dress – showing off the bare flesh it exposed. She rolled one shoulder impressively, rippling with muscle. She finally dropped her gaze, looking ahead. But then glanced back again as she headed off, beckoning him to follow.

"Come on," she said, coyly. "I'll buy you a drink."
