Amazing that with such a physique she never made it to the pro ranks.

It was a long time ago, but as I recall she had been a model in the SF area and became interested in BB (she was 5' 10"). She moved to the Northwest and entered a few contests. Her main rival at the time was Peggy Bertelsen, a former track and field athlete. She hooked up with a trainer and promoted a BB show or two with him. Later she met Brad Craig and subsequently they promoted more contests, most notably the Emerald Cup. Brad had competed in some "Toughman" contests, but settled down to become a Seattle police officer. (I recall seeing a clip of him on the news holding a gun on someone with a knife.)

She exudes such power and grace in the gym photos. Those arms of hers look amazing.

At the time I wrote the above comments, I couldn't remember Elaine's maiden name. She married Brad Craig and therefore had a different surname prior to that marriage. Somehow, a few days later her name popped up into me consciousness. For most of the shows, perhaps all, that she entered, her name was Elaine Wright.
