Yurie Ijima

She was pretty solid for her time:

Stumbled across some older contest footage of her I had never seen before:

A lovely hard physique. Check out her muscle density.

Her punches at 100% speed don't look particularly impressive but take a look
at when the footage is slowed to 30%.

She is executing her punches in a style of performing karate katas. That snapping motion towards the end causes the gi (karate robe) to crack or snap like a whip. It is the origin of sound effects in martial arts movies. (this reminds me of a story told by another member here that I'm waiting on permission to post)

This is her routine from the 1999 Jan Tana. It is better quality than the other video that is dead on here. I know because I made that capture and posted it on the Muscle Dragons yahoo group years ago before it was posted here.

Interesting and very nice. Not much asian FBBs are huge as her. She reminds me Leilani Dalumpines - another asian musclemonster from 90s

Hey JF, thanks for highlighting this video of Yurie. The more of her, the better.

The channel that hosts this clip has aslo another video of the 1985 Japan Nationals featuring her (She apparently took 2nd place).

[pumpfiction]

Oh sorry, just noticed you updated another thread with links to that aforementionned video.

Great find, haven't seen those contest videos before. Anyone know if she's still around?

This video is new to me. I love seeing new material on Yurie. Beautiful woman. Beautiful physique. Thanks, Jadefoot! K+

Too muscular in regards to the Japanese standards, she basically had to exile to get her pro card.

I saw a recent pic of her standing with someone else, she's definitely an elder lady now but she's flexing her bicep in the photo and damn she's still holding some muscle. I'll see if I can track it down again, here is another pic that I think is from 2011:

I dunno, that doesn't look like the same person...

I did come across this pic of a younger iijima:
