Ms. Olympia replacement contest (FACEBOOK RUMOR) updated 3rd of March 2015

Some of the dates don't match current contest dates (i.e. Chicago pro) and I've not seen any information about it other than Christine Envall's FB page. However, if it is true, it is very good news for female bodybuilding. If anyone knows more information please contribute. Keep your figures crossed.

My worry for this is that the event will be held independently to the O in a different location and a different date and nobody shows up to watch / no tickets are sold. Only hardcore schmoes will go and watch this. As we know most guys don't attend shows and couldn't care less about competition....just the bodies that enter. If tickets sales to this event are horrific without the support of the other classes it could be quite an embarrassing event. That said if it happens then I am sure the prize money will encourage more competition. More money will result in more bitchiness though....especially in a sport where judging criteria is inconsistent and women are involved....mark my words on that!

Yes it will still be IFBB sanctioned guidelines and judges. Also redrob is on target..pretty much only the extreme schmoe level fans are the only ones interested in that standard...in fact, it's actually a mainstream fitness market repellent so WoF is essentially designating themselves as the "schmoe show" of the industry. And Tampa is typically a 6k show so if someone's coming out-of-pocket for another 40k+ just to make a statement that would be f'n crayzee, although Lord knows the women at that level deserve it for the extreme sacrifices they've made.

There is also a more positive way to express it: Another chance to leave the past behind and come out of the closet. Schmoe v2.0 is different, a cool guy who will attend the show bursting with self confidence, and returning with the most exclusive memories, leaving all work colleagues and friends jealous and drooling. Now or never .... mark my words on that!

I want to be optimistic about this, but there seem to be some large hurdles to overcome if this is going to work. If actually putting asses in the seats seems to be biggest problem then why not have a paid online stream of the contest? I'm not willing to drive across the country to see an event, but I'd certainly be willing to pay to watch it at home.
