Great lifts. Love seeing girls with bar bending weight pull off these lifts. Some amazing powerhouses these days.

That was an issue in the men's divisions years back. The bar needs to have some flex, but perhaps you are right and there is something better. I'm not up to par on the present quality of the bars or if they need improvement. The waiting for it to settle after the clean has been around for a long time..especially with the men.

Does anyone know if Sibel Simsek has retired; she didn't appear to be at the European championships earlier this year.

Don't know really. She took part in Meditarranean Games this year but doesn't seem to be in the starting list of here neither.

I didn't know there has been issues with the men's bar as well. I thought it has been the same since the rotating barbells came in the 70's or 80's.

It's a bit funny when the rules say that the lifter should wait until the bar is motionless. Yet so many lifters take an advantage of the elasticity of the barbell. Like you can clearly see with the likes of Aramnnau and Hui doing it in their every lift, Liao even sometimes bounces it after the clean to make it bounce more.

Some of the photos are old and not that good quality but there it goes anyways.

Thanks for the pics Zybrus. Gave you Karma. Not sure on the rules and governing bodies issues. I'm just glad a female strength sport seems to be slowly growing. Valentina is attractive. She has a nice youtube following.

Firsti competition is over. A bit disappointing but it was to be expected that level won't be that high since the Turkish got banned. Weird tactics from the Chinese since she already got the gold with her first attempt, why not go for the records for the remaining lifts? I just don't get it; she was only six kilos short and it looked easy.

Quote1. TIAN Yayun (CHN) 84+115 = 199
2. RYANG Chun Hwa (PRK) 81+105 = 186
3. VALENCIA HERNANDEZ Carolina (MEX) 78+103 = 181

No visual material availabe yet but lets see what I can find later.
