Realistically, if someone somehow squeezed hard enough to actually injure a skinny person's chest, I'd expect something like broken ribs leading to a pneumothorax (a collapsed lung) rather than instant death. That can definitely be dangerous and would need medical treatment, but it's not the same as crushing someone on the spot. You'd need extreme force and the person would basically have to be unable to fight back. The rib cage and lungs are tougher than people think, so while it could cause serious injury, just hugging someone to death with your arms alone is still extremely unlikely.

i dont think she meant instantly, but just that she could hug so tight the guy wouldnt be able to breathe and would eventually pass out

Yeah, that does sound possible. Breathing in would be extremely difficult, and the person would probably pass out because of her strength.
