WPW 88 - Velma Buckels

The full WPW 88:

with Velma Buckels by WPW - 46 Minutes
This work was done with Velma in 1987 and at that time it was very rare to see a woman over 40 competing in any contests much less top national shows. That year we had two rather short shootings with her at the time of her contests- The Nationals and the Extravaganza Bodybuilding contest. At the time of her first show, the Nationals, we were not aware of her but when we saw how impressive she was at her age, we decided to shoot her on the spot, then set up another session with her a short time later at the Extravaganza. She was in very lean contest shape with good size (for a woman 'over 40') and her upper body and biceps in particular were her best features muscularity-wise. No gymwork, but lots of posing in bikinis and dresses and she was interviewed. Once the sport got into the 1990s and later, it started to become more and more common for women of this age (and age 50s and 60s also) to compete, but again, back in the late 1980s it was rather rare, and Velma was lookin' good then!
