Now that was some fun ultra-violence! Great story, loving Lexi!

kjm00

I've spent too much time thinking about how people (and women, of course) scal e up or down.  Way too much.

The simplest version -- the usual "photographic" or straight scaling in DAZ or Virt-A-Mate is a cubed relationship.  That is, if a woman increases in height from 5' to 6' (20% -- 1.5 m to 1.83 m), they increase in mass by 1.2^3 or 169%.  A short, fit woman at 100 pounds (or 45 kg) is now a fairly hefty 170 pounds or 76 kg.

At the other end, if you took a person and simply stretched them -- a linear increase in mass -- going from 5' to 6' would mean going from 100 pounds to 120.  I like to think of this as "model scaling" -- there's no way that a high fashion model can be 55 kg or 120 as she approaches 5'1" (1.8 m) if she grew much in bust or hip size.

The most common relationship between height and weight is the Body Mass Index which dates back to the 19th century.  Here, the height is squared since people do get wider/thicker as they get taller, but not as much as straight scaling would predict.  So, here, your short girlfriend might end up 20% heavier if she grew by 10% in height (or 44% heavier for a 20% increase, e.g. 145 pounds/66kg at 6 feet tall).  This is pretty close to the real world for realistic changes in height.

There have been studies, of course, and it looks like the actual exponent is closer to 2.1 -- if you're worried about BMI (and weightlifters shouldn't bother), you get a point or two extra margin if you're tall -- my BMI of 26 is equivalent to a shorter guy's 25.

So, more than you ever wanted to know.  It's why a woman of model height (5'9" or ~ 175 cm) would have to be pretty massive to look as built as the relatively short Cindy Phillips or Aleesha Young, but not the cubic increase predicted by simple geometric scaling.  Squared is a good approximation, but if you're trying predict the weight of a truly tall and huge bodybuilder, you might want to try an exponent of 2.2 -2.5.

kjm00,
That's a nice breakdown and something to really give thought to.  Thanks for sharing it.

And now for a developmental chapter.  A calmer moment after the chaos of the last chapter.

The End of the Beginning or the Beginning of the End

Lexi's experiment with high school basketball was a rousing success.  She turned out to be a remarkable shooter and was, unsurprisingly, the strongest and most physical player on the team.  Her decision to lay off steroids was a prescient one; her muscle building goals shifted from building sheer mass to going slightly leaner to help her play.  Lexi's final growth spurt topped her out at 6'2 and 210 ripped pounds.

Being part of a team was a learning experience for Lexi.  For the first time in her life, there were other people she could depend on and who depended on her.  It was her first real growth in maturity, though she still had a long way to go.  Lexi's fledgling steps towards adulthood didn't make her any more generous to the students who weren't her teammates.  She was still an arrogant athlete who considered anyone smaller and weaker than her to be a second-class citizen...which was most everyone.

Graduation came, and along with it a full university scholarship to a women's basketball powerhouse in the south.  Lexi was elated to be leaving her shitty little town and all the bad memories that resided there, including the destruction of Spencer Hughes.  The word on the street was that Spencer eventually recovered, but with permanent disabilities.  He never returned to school and his family moved away a year after the attack.  Lexi would occasionally have nightmares about that day, waking up covered in sweat and filled with remorse.  She repressed those feelings as completely as she could.

Lexi's arrival at college was a revelation.  She was assigned to the athletics dorm and was surrounded by people for whom physical perfection was a daily goal.  She loved it.  Lexi's first meeting with basketball team left her giddy.  She recognized all the returning players, national champions, and vowed that she would be one someday as well.  The coach was everything she expected, a middle-aged woman who would brook no disrespect or accept any excuse.  She was an absolute taskmaster, both terrifying and inspiring in equal measure.  For the first several days, the new team members were run through physical tests and drills by the assistant coaches, while the head coach watched in silence.

On her fourth day, Lexi was pulled out of practice to see the head coach.  She approached the office in her shorts and tank top, sweat making her razor-sharp musculature glisten.  Lexi passed a mirror on the way and stopped for a brief second to admire herself.  As in high school, Lexi was certain she was the strongest woman on the team; she was certainly the most ripped.  Lexi smiled at her reflection. She was more than the ultimate physical specimen; she was a god.

Lexi was ushered in an office where she sat across the desk from the most revered women's basketball coach in the nation.  Coach just stared at her silently.  The first few seconds of silence were tolerable, but as time wore on, Lexi became very uncomfortable under the silent gaze.  Coach's impassive face gave away none of her thoughts.

Finally, in an elegant southern accent, Coach said, "I know your type."

Uncertainty began to well up in Lexi.

"Big girl, big talent, big ego."  Coach said, "But not enough maturity to harness any of it to make yourself great.  Your high school coach told me all about you.  You're a bully.  I see it in the way you walk, I see it in the way you talk.  You, little girl, have no humility.  And without it, you'll have no place on my team."

Lexi shank into her chair, white with shock.  No one had ever spoken to her like this before.

"I build great players Lexi."  Coach continued.  "Players who are leaders.  Leaders who know the way, walk the way and show the way."

Lexi set her jaw and sat up straight.  With determination, she replied "I'll do anything you ask coach; I'll learn anything you need me to.  I want to play on this team."

"Good." Coach said in a satisfied drawl.  You can start by going to The Farm.  Coach Stan will take you there today after you clean up.  I'll expect you to go every day for the next two weeks.  Then we'll talk again.  You can go."

Lexi stood up and walked into the hallway.  Coach Stan, one the "Assistants to an Assistant Coach" was waiting for her.  He was a skinny stats guy; the kind of guy Lexi would have shouldered into a wall as she was passing him, just for fun.  But not now.  She'd been given marching orders by Coach.  She had no idea what The Farm was, but by God she would prove herself there.

Truth! This is the most important thing when writing!

Sounds like there will be no more senseless destroying of wimps—but the story is still shaping up extremely nicely! I can appreciate me some character development.

Great job!

Another quick developmental chapter...more excitement is coming thought!!

The Farm

Lexi rode in silence with Coach Stan.  Her thoughts were filled with questions about what The Farm could be and what would be required of her there.  Whatever it was, she would dominate it.  It was her way.  The drive took them 20 minutes outside of town.  Stan pulled off the main highway and onto a country lane, then turned onto a long dirt driveway.  The scene that unfolded through the trees was idyllic.  Several low-lying buildings, a couple of basketball courts, endless fields of grass and a lot of young children.  Stan smiled knowingly, amused at the confused look on Lexi's face.

"I'll pick you up at 6:30."  He told her as she got out of the car.  "Tomorrow you'll be here from 8am to 6:30.   I'll bring you over and pick you up every day.  Good luck."  Stan smirked at Lexi as he drove off.  Lexi was met by a middle-aged couple, both with big smiles and kind eyes, who introduced themselves as Tyler and Diane.  They both had to look up at the tall muscle girl.

"What is this place?" Lexi asked warily.

"We call this the Children's Home."  Diane answered.    "Tyler and I are the Directors here."

Tyler chimed in.  "The kids here are a mixed bag.  Some are in foster care, some are here temporarily, some have handicaps, but all of them are facing serious challenges in their lives and we're here to give them a safe space to grow up and just be kids."

Diane reached out and embraced Lexi's big hand.  "Your coach told us that you wanted to spend time with kids who are less fortunate than you.  We think that's wonderful.  We really appreciate you wanting to be a part of our family Lexi."

"Uh, sure."  Lexi replied, with a mix of uncertainty and relief.  At least Coach didn't tell them she was a hard case who was being punished, even if that's sort of how it felt.  "What do you want me to do?"

"Well," Tyler said, "mostly just play with the kids.  We rotate groups so they all get outdoor time between classes.  Just hang with them, talk to them, play basketball with them.  They're starved for attention and role models."

"Got it.  Play basketball with them.  I can do that."  Lexi started strolling over to the courts, taking it all in as she walked.  There must have been a couple of dozen kids playing outside, most of them on the young side.  She didn't see anyone who could have been much older than 10.  There were a bunch of boys playing on the basketball court and one girl who was really trying to fit in.  She was a little on the stocky side and a definite tomboy.  She was a bit taller than most of the boys and held her own, but she was having trouble shooting.  And it was pissing her off.  All of them stopped and gaped when Lexi walked up to them.

"Wow!"  One of the boys said, "She's a giant!"

"Can I play?"  She asked the group.

"Uh, sure."  Another boy answered.  "She's on my team!"  he added quickly.

Lexi played with them for a while.  Really, she just ran around and made them work for their shots.  The little girl just couldn't sink a basket, so at one point Lexi just picked her up and held her next to the rim while she dunked it.  The game eventually broke up, but the little girl just kept trying to shoot.

"You've almost got it."  Lexi said encouragingly.

"No I don't."  The girl answered.  "Would you show me?  I know you're a basketball player."

"What gave me away?" Lexi laughed.

"Well you're like 20 feet tall.  My name is Wendy.  I'm 8.  What's your name?"

Lexi leaned over and shook Wendy's hand.  "I'm Lexi. And yes, I play basketball.  Come on, let's shoot."

Lexi spent the next half hour with Wendy teaching her technique, and by the end she was making baskets.  Wendy was elated and hugged Lexi around her quads.  While they were playing, Lexi noticed a little boy, probably Wendy's age, sitting off by himself under the trees.

"What's he doing over there all by himself?"  Lexi asked.

"That's Michael." Wendy said."  He just got here a couple of days ago.  He's really nice, but REALLY shy.  He'll talk to me a little bit, but no one else.  Wanna meet him?"

Diane was standing nearby and overheard Lexi and Wendy's conversation.  She pulled Lexi aside.  "Be careful around Michael," she said.  "He's just came out of an abusive home situation.  His father violated a restraining order and beat up his mother and started hitting Michael before the police arrived and arrested him.  Little Michael is afraid of adults.  We're giving him space and trying not to pressure him while he acclimates.  He'll be here until his mother gets out of the hospital."

"Ok."  Lexi said tentatively.  Wendy was impatient with the adult talk.  She grabbed Lexi's hand and pulled her over to Michael.  As they approached the little boy, Lexi's heart seized.  He bore more than a passing resemblance to Spencer Hughes.  Lexi knew it wasn't him; this boy was too young.  Nevertheless, the memories Michael triggered caused guilt to gnaw at her again.

"Hey Michael."  Wendy chirped and she let go of Lexi and kneeled in front of the boy.  While he might have been Wendy's age, he was far smaller than her.  "I want you meet my new friend Lexi.  She showed me how to play basketball!"

Lexi knelt down and said hi with a big smile.  Michael stared at the giant muscle woman with a touch of trepidation and looked back to Wendy for reassurance.  He stayed calm, gave Lexi with the barest hint of a smile, then went back to drawing in a large notebook.

"Michael draws a lot.  He's really good."  Wendy said.

"Wendy!" one of the counselors called, "It's time for you to come into class."

"OK."  Wendy yelled back.  "Bye Michael.  Lexi, will you be around later?"

"I have to leave at 6:30, but I'll be here tomorrow."

"Great!"  Wendy said as she bounded off.

Lexi watched Michael for a moment as he was engrossed in his drawing.  The tree they were under was large, with multiple trunks.  Michael was sitting up against one, so Lexi crawled over to the next trunk and sat against it.  She didn't try to interrupt Michael, she just stayed near him.  She caught him glancing at her several times, and just smiled at him.  The thought that a father would try to hurt such a cute little boy made her blood boil.  Then she realized that she no better than Michael's abusive father.  Shit.  Did Coach plan this?  Lexi breathed hard in exasperation, then let it go and tried to relax.  She sat with Michael for a couple of hours, until it was time for her to leave.

"Bye Michael.  I'll see you tomorrow."  Lexi said.

Michael looked up at her with puppy dog eyes and that "not quite a smile" expression on his face before digging back into his notepad.

"Strange boy."  Lexi thought with her own smile as she got into the car with Coach Stan.

That was an unexpected turn. This story has the potential to have a lot more heart than the particular smash and grinds.

When Lexi arrived at the Farm the next morning, she was greeted by one of the counselors.

"Your little admirer has been asking about you all morning.  He was actually talking!  Great job getting him to peek out of his shell."  She said to Lexi.  Lexi assumed the counselor was talking about little Michael.  That was confirmed when Wendy ran up and hugged her.

"Michael's been waiting for you all morning.  I think he's sweet on you!  Come on!"

Lexi was as surprised as anyone that she had an impact on the little boy.  She let Wendy drag her to the same tree they were under yesterday.  This morning, there was a definite smile on Michael's face as they walked up to him.  And then, as quick as a flash, Michael's head was back down in his notebook.  Lexi and Wendy sat down near Michael, but sitting still was not one of Wendy's strong suits.  Every few seconds, she would kick, or poke or prod Lexi.  Finally, Lexi had enough.

"That's it, small fry!"  she growled playfully as she plucked Wendy off the ground.  Lexi held Wendy at arm's length and tickled her until Wendy couldn't laugh any more.  Michael watched out of the corner of his eye, giggling.  Lexi put Wendy down and watched her as she struggled to breathe through her howls.  Lexi totally missed that Michael had gotten up and was sneaking up behind her.  He wrapped his skinny arms around her neck, trying to subdue her.  Wendy took advantage of the distraction and leapt into Lexi's lap to continue her own tickle assault.

"All right you two little monkeys!"  Lexi teased as she gripped each child in a hand and stood up.  She extended her long arms and held the rambunctious kids high off the ground, then curled them up under her arms and spun around several times.  They all collapsed on the ground laughing hysterically.  The three were having so much fun, they missed the commotion occurring at the front of the Farm.  A car drove up way too fast and skidded dangerously to a stop.  Lexi looked up just as a man with crazy eyes jumped out the car brandishing a wicked looking knife.

"Where's my son!"  He screamed.  "He's my boy.  You fuckers can't keep him away from me!  WHERE IS HE!"

When Michael heard that voice his complexion turned as white as a sheet.  He wrapped his arms around his knees and started to shiver.  Counselors surrounded the crazy man who was clearly Michael's abusive father.  He lunged at them with his knife, trying to break free of their cordon.  Lexi turned to Wendy and Michael with a deadly serious look on her face.

"Wendy, if he gets past me, you take Michael's hand and you two run.  You run as fast as you can.  Do you hear me?"

"Yes ma'am"  Wendy said shakily.

"Michael, do you understand me?"  Lexi asked sharply.

Michael looked up with desperate fear in his eyes, but nodded yes.  Lexi jumped up and ran toward the danger.

The crazy man made a desperate stab at a counselor, who jumped out of the way of the knife blade.  The opening was all he needed to break free of the group surrounding him.  He started to run towards Michael when he was brought up short.  Standing in front of him was one of the most intimidating sights he had ever seen.  The young woman blocking his path was tall, really tall.  Her exposed arms and legs had more muscle on them than he'd ever seen on anyone outside of television.  She just stood there on tree trunk legs, bulging arms hanging at her side.  Her eyes stared at him, watching...waiting.  Lexi's body was tensed and ready; her pounding heart filled veins that snaked around her bulky limbs, feeding those thick muscles with blood.  The crazy man made a crazier decision; he attacked the monstrous woman head-on.  He extended the arm holding his knife and thrust it at Lexi.  She skillfully grabbed his wrist and pushed the arm aside, twisting her attacker around in the process.  Still holding his wrist, Lexi brought his arm up behind his back until the knife dropped out of his hand.  Lexi forced the man down on his knees.  The man screamed in pain as he looked up at the woman dominating him.  He saw her raise a sledgehammer fist, then watched it drop straight down.  The assembled group gasped as Lexi knocked out the crazy man with a single blow.

He slipped out of Lexi's grasp, an ugly welt forming on the side of his head just as the police arrived.  Lexi turned and ran back to Michael and Wendy.  Several counselors were there already.  Michael was wailing in terror and wouldn't let any of them near him.  When he saw Lexi approach, he began to calm down.  Lexi knelt in front of Michael.

"It's ok Bud.  He won't hurt you."  She said softly.

Lexi extended her arms.  Michael only needed a second before he jumped up and bolted into her embrace.  Lexi held him tight, then reached out and curled Wendy into the hug as well.  The three new friends were now best friends.  The counselors retreated, leaving the Lexi to care for the two children.  She held Michael and Wendy until everyone calmed down.  While he was secure in Lexi's lap, Michael's delicate fingers traced the thick cords of muscle in the arm that surrounded him.  After a while, he scooted off her leg and picked up his notebook.  Lexi and Wendy watched in curiosity as he sat cross-legged and drew furiously on the page he'd been working on for the last day.  Finally, he stopped and put his pencil down.  He handed the book to Lexi.  Inside was the most amazingly lifelike pencil sketch of Lexi as an angel.  All of her muscles were exquisitely reproduced.  It was a masterpiece, and the first time anyone had given something freely to Lexi.

"I told you he was good."  Wendy said, as proud of her friend as she could be.

"You think I'm an angel?"  Lexi asked him as tears began to well in her eyes.  Michael just smiled at her.  "I think you're an angel, Michael."  Lexi turned to Wendy.  "And you, young lady, are a superhero.  You were so brave."

The three spent most of the day together.  Lexi was filled with the strangest feelings.  She attributed it to adrenaline.  But that didn't seem quite right.

When the kids were brought inside to class, Diane sat with Lexi.

"Are you alright?"  Diane asked her.

"I think so."  Lexi said.  "I just have these butterflies that won't go away."

Diane's compassionate gaze broke into a smile.  "You're discovering selfless love, dear.  You put your love for two children you barely know before your own safety.  I suspect you're going to love those two little ones forever."

"I know I'm going to."  Lexi said with certainty.

When Lexi returned to campus that evening, the head coach was waiting for her.

"I understand you had a little excitement today."  Coach said knowingly.

"Yes Ma'am, you could say that."  Lexi answered with a gentle expression.  "Thank you for sending me there."

"No, my dear.  Thank YOU for stepping up and figuring out that there are things more important than you.  You've learned what I needed you to learn.  You don't have to go to The Farm any longer if you don't want to."

"No Coach, I want to keep going.  I'll find time between practice and classes."

"Good girl."  Coach said as she put her arm around Lexi's waist and walked her into the practice arena.
