Hi I've just joined saradas. Been an fbb admirer since i was a teenager who saw Chyna on WWF TV about 20 years ago.

Haven't really explored much more about this which is why I'm here

Hi all, just joined Saradas. I have liked women's bodybuilding since the early eighties, seems like there are alot more women involved in the sport than the old, and physiques are more defined. Since it's been a while since I have really kept up, I'm trying to learn the big names.

Welcome 👍—you picked a good time to jump back in. The sport's changed a lot since the 80s, but in some ways it's more stacked with talent now than ever.

If you're trying to get up to speed, it helps to break it down by eras and key names:

Classic / Early Icons (you'll recognize some):

• Cory Everson
• Lenda Murray
• Bev Francis

Late 90s / Early 2000s (shift toward size & conditioning):

• Kim Chizevsky
• Yaxeni Oriquen
• Valentina Chepiga

Modern Dominance Era:

• Iris Kyle → the standard for dominance (10x Olympia)

Current Era (right now):

• Andrea Shaw → reigning Ms. Olympia, very complete physique
• Helle Trevino → consistency and longevity
• Angela Yeo / Ashley Jones → newer names pushing the look forward

You're also right—today's physiques are generally:

• More conditioned
• More refined in presentation
• And there's more depth across the lineup

One thing you might find interesting coming from the 80s:

• The sport has gone through phases of aesthetics → mass → balance again
• Right now it's somewhere in the middle, depending on the show

If you've been out of it for a while, I'd honestly recommend:
→ Watch a recent Ms. Olympia
→ Then go back and compare it to a 90s show

The differences (and similarities) stand out immediately.

Curious—who were your favorites back in the 80s? That'll make it easier to point you toward some modern equivalents.

Hello everyone!

I'm a fan of fitness women, and the reason is very simple: they look like super heroines from comics magazine!
Yes, I can say I started enjoying fitness women after reading comics, particularly those drawn from Ed Benes, Simon Bisley, Gabriele Dell'Otto, Byrne and so many more!
I do think that their physique is particularly well photogenic and suited for realistic drawing, thus resulting in great piece of art!

About photos, there is something in "vintage" photos attracting me so much I'm actually curious: it's not nostalgia, 'cause I've discovered this world after. Maybe it's the colour saturation?
This just to say that my preferred photos usually involves Monica Brant, Vicky Pratt, Cristiana Casoni, Cory Everson and other great fitness athletes from the '90-early 2000, but I like almost everything!

Nice to meet you!

Hello, I am Clay.  I am from Texas.  I have joined because I admire women with muscles.

Hi, another new joiner here (male). I'm from the UK.

Happy to be part of a group with a shared passion. I think it's great that these days women can chose to be big and strong and don't think they have to be as small as possible to fit in.

I've never been part of a forum before and I'm not on social media but this seems like a great community and I'm looking forward to getting involved.

Hi,

I recently joined, and while there has admittedly been a learning curve, I am also having a lot of fun! I dabble in all the divisions, but I'm particularly into physique and wellness. Not always sure what people want to see, so I usually just share what I like! I'm a legs and glutes guy.

See you around!

Pen

I'm fairly new here. Trying to get my bearings straight on here.  Hope everyone is doing awesome!
