"Cory Everson – Would She Still Win Today?"

Cory Everson defined an era with athleticism, femininity, and stage charisma.

But bodybuilding has evolved dramatically since her time.

If Cory stepped on stage today in her prime:

- Would she be competitive?
- Or would she be outsized?

How do you think she would be judged under modern standards?

Cory Everson wasn't just a champion — she was a quiet revolution. At a time when female strength was still finding its place, she emerged with a near-perfect blend of symmetry, elegance, and power, proving that muscle could also be harmony. Her legacy isn't just in her titles, but in reshaping how we see the female physique: strong, yes... but also beautiful, balanced, and deeply inspiring.

How do you think she would be judged under modern standards?

It's hard to say as all the Divisions slowly gain in size, even Bikini ....maybe she could do Figure or Fitness with more muscle ...I doubt Physique and definitely not F.B.B?

This should have been Poll!

Cory Everson defined an era with athleticism, femininity, and stage charisma.

- Or would she be outsized?

How do you think she would be judged under modern standards?

Cory in her prime today is one of those "depends on the division" scenarios.

If you drop her as-is into modern Women's Bodybuilding, she probably gets outsized. The current standard—while not as extreme as late 90s/early 2000s—is still built around more overall muscularity and density than Cory typically carried. She'd still look great, but she wouldn't have that same overwhelming presence she had in the 80s.

But that's not the whole story.

Cory's strengths were:

•  Structure and symmetry
•  Athletic, flowing physique
•  Stage presence and presentation (arguably still elite by today's standards)

So where would she thrive?

• Women's Physique? She'd be very competitive, possibly a top contender depending on how she came in.
• Figure (with slight adjustments)? She could dominate with her lines and presentation.

In a way, Cory didn't "fall behind"—the sport split into divisions that now reward exactly what she brought.

So:

• In modern WBB → competitive, but not dominant
• Across today's divisions → still elite, just placed differently

It actually says a lot about her physique that it created a lane the sport eventually formalized.

Curious—do you think her look fits closer to today's Physique or Figure standard?
