Some days ago I was watching some old videos and right now I'm thinking: What happened?  Probably I would not be wrong if I think that Kiana Tom is Bodyshaping's unbeatable queen.  Nevertheless, when I watched her first videos with Cory Everson she looks completely flavorless at her side: No legs, no arms, no back, no butt, and no curves anywhere.  It's funny, because I remember those days when I watched Bodyshaping and I was completely impressed by Kiana's body, but simply she couldn't at Cory's side.  According to my point of view, Cory was and still is the perpetual queen.

But something is really sad about it.  If Cory would be born during the years when she was winning Ms O, she would be competing today, and she will be a complete looser on the stage.  She would not be able to earn a Pro Card, she would lost at Iris' side, she would not be good enough to compete in fitness, she would be sent to the looser line in Bikini or Figure contests.  At her prime, probably years 1984 to 1987, she would be too muscular for bikini or figure, she would not have abilities enough in fitness, and by far not enough muscle to be successful in bodybuilding.
Probably the main reason why Cory will be the eternal queen is because what she did.  She transformed the world of bodybuilding completely.  Carla Dunlap didn't have Cory's femininity; Rachel Mc Lish didn't have Cory's muscles.  She won the crown and kept it for 6 long years.  It's arguable if she deserved 6 titles, but every woman close to the sport wanted to be like Cory during those days.  And the combination of femininity and muscularity was firmly established by The Queen.
The big question was: "Who will come after Cory?"... Bev Francis, Sandy Ridell, Ellen Van Maris were the women who broke the eggs but didn't eat the omelet.  They pushed the muscularity over the femininity and little by little the criteria were changing, and Cory, in a very wise move stepped to the side, keeping the title of the unbeatable and beginning the legend.
The rest is history.  Iris doesn't have Cory's femininity and Cory doesn't have Iris' muscles.  Nevertheless, Cory's body type doesn't have a space in today's bodybuilding arena.  She is the myth; she was and still is the best.  Watching her in those pale and poor quality Bodyshaping videos is easy to fall in love with her, and I can't stop asking to myself: In what direction bodybuilding is going?  Is that the right direction?  Watching those videos of course I feel that someone lost the direction

Roland Kickinger, Mr. Austria, stopped by to say hello at the Fit Expo. He reminds me of a young Arnold. Was great to see him and to hear about his success acting in the Terminator series of movies.... Cory
