Login I was aware of the film about Loius Cyr’s life but had never watched it through until yesterday. It seems that he had a daughter named Emiliana who was part of the strength act with her father and brother between 1893 and 1897 when she would have been aged between six and ten. Sadly there seems to almost no information recorded about what her strength feats were, except that she was able to lift over 300lbs when she was eight. This feat is featured in the best scene in the film. There are some teenage powerlifters who can deadlift 300lbs today, but to be able to do it at eight years old is astounding. According to the plot of the film, Emiliana wanted to continue her career and become a professional strong girl and she received an offer to perform with Ringling Brothers circus. But her father was determined that she shouldn’t be involved in the circus business and insisted that she concentrate on her education, which led to a rift between them. What a tragedy as she might well have developed to become the strongest woman who has ever lived.
