Synopsis: Lee is unconscious and tied to chair. Alexa arouses him by stroking his chest. This time, a guy is the prisoner of sexual desire. We see the action from Lee's point of view, while Alexa punches, kicks, and viciously bitch slaps her very own flesh & blood punching bag. Lee tries to stand up like man, but in a contest of who can land the lowest blow, Alexa is a clear winner. Rendered completely impotent, Alexa's boy toy cannot even dream of being the measure of her insatiable desire. When Lee can no longer stand the torment, he begs Alexa to give him a break. In an ironic gesture of compassion, the cruel dominitrix actually complies with his demand, and Lee is forever free.

Critique: This is a rare dominace and submission video, where the sub doesn't behave like one. Lee does get his ass whupped, but at least he doesn't "roll over and play dead" for the whole video. Masochist or not, the guy is supposed to play the role of a self respecting man who does NOT want to be beaten. Frankly, I'm fed up of videos where Barbie giggles non stop while she plays with her Ken doll. I've never heard a crook say:

"Officer, I surrender! Please beat me up. That's how I get off. And, don't bother throwing me in jail. I didn't actually commit a crime. So, I really deserve a death sentence."

On the other hand, it's not easy to BELIEVE that a small woman can beat up a guy, who is much bigger than she is, especially if he's not expected to cooperate. It's a simple fact that hunting grizzly bears is a dangerous pass time, so even if the huntress "bags her man", she still has to suffer some abuse. So its important that Lee does land a few token blows.

If the woman were actually larger than the man, her dominance would be more credible, but I bet even Saradas fans will grudgingly admit that most guys think hardcore FBBs are too butch. So, that's why the girls should attack when they have superior numbers, and also resort to low blows and ambushes, much like lionesses do when they hunt.

As for the psychology, you have to believe that Lee is a masochist with a death wish, but somehow he doesn't actually know it, because his true motives are subconscious.

Chastity | Theatre of Pain

Set in the 1970's, Theatre of Pain is a cumming of age story about a small town girl, Chastity, who has ambitions of becoming an acclaimed actor. Besides having bona fide talent, it doesn't hurt to also be young and attractive. However, Chastity's abusive and ill tempered dad has other plans for her.

In the hopes of pursuing her dream, the ill fated ingenue flees to England, where she becomes a roadie for a radical band of nasty punk rockers. And, as if her predicament wasn't hopeless enough, Chastity has a chance encounter with a completely revolting bloodsucker. Ironically, Chastity practically has to die in order to truly live, but can she ever be happy eking out a kill or be killed existence? How will she ever find time for love and romance? 

After having been made, Chastity soon learns that she can do more than recite Shakespeare, assuming she'll ever have a welcoming audience. Chastity has been blessed with an extremely rare trait that prevents her from being detected by other vampires; a decisive advantage that allows her to become a vampire slayer. Unlike Buffy, however, Chastity is a vampire herself. Yet, even with a special talent and outstanding martial arts skills, Chastity still has to use her wits to defeat superior enemies.

Criticism: I like the story. Choosing a different time and place for the setting helps make the fantasy seem real. It's not easy to believe in vampires, but it's possible to imagine that such events can occur in an exotic world. Moreover, British accents, theatrics, and dream like reveries make the story more thought provoking. They even throw in a cameo appearance from Jimmy Page! So, if you fancy a sexy vampire slayer dressed in skimpy outfits, Chastity may be worth a gander.

There are a few good action scenes, but it only rates PG-13 for sex & violence content. On the other hand, the story line is more intriguing than usual. An archaeological dig unleashes supernatural beings, etc, but it's not quite so self-explanatory. Numerous settings and characters with conflicting agendas confuse the picture. On the negative side, some of the characters do come off as rather childish. I suppose the writer figured that only kids are going to read it anyway.

As for the illustrations, the lines are simple, but the artist does have a good feel for feminine proportion. As a civilian, Sheena looks like the woman in cover 2. This look is rather thin, but it's normal for a fit woman. However, when Sheena dons her leopard skin, she comes out looking like the woman in cover 1, an athletic look that's more to my liking. Her change in physical proportions isn't as striking as the Hulk transformation, but it is a noticeable improvement, nevertheless.

Synopsis: Moonstar desperately needs the Rune of Therapy. Moonstar's people have stolen it before, but the Amazons have since reclaimed it. Talon refuses to yield, even if the life of Moonstar's friend is at stake. Talon doesn't like outsiders. She seems only interested in fighting. So, once again, we witness a deadly, no-holds-barred, winner-take-all struggle for supremacy.

Critique: The basic theme about who takes who is simply too banal for my taste. On the plus side, Tiffany is my favorite Heroine Legends babe, and I especially like her Moonstar costume. Whenever she bends over, her cape rises, giving the viewer a glimpse of her shapely buttocks.

Psychology: Freud's basic therapeutic method involved helping his patients recall traumatic events that had happened during childhood. In so doing, his patients were able to relieve pent-up emotions that were tied to repressed memories. This emotional discharge is called catharsis. A fictional example to this effect is the mind control technique used by Spoc's half brother, Sybok, in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989).

In ancient Greece, the term catharsis actually meant menstruation, but Aristotle used it to describe the emotional reaction of an audience to a drama. In this film, the Rune of Therapy is a symbol of subconscious desire. Its theft represents the loss of innocence.

From Freud's perspective, The Rune of Therapy is a juvenile narcissistic fantasy, which metaphorically portrays the reunion of parent and child. Talon is the possessive child, who feels betrayed. She doesn't know it, but Talon actually loves Moonstar, and she's jealous of Moonstar's friend. Moonstar represents the child's parents. As the mother, Moonstar is a nurturing female; as the father, she's a dominatrix.

Since young children do not have a fixed sexual identity, the person having the fantasy can actually be a man imagining himself as a woman. Moreover, he can imagine himself as the child and/or the parent at the same time. Note, however, that regardless of their actual gender, one of the combatants has to be the man. Moonstar's heat vision and even her super breath can be phallic symbols. At one point, Moonstar uses a low blow to castrate Talon into feminine submission. Regardless of who takes who, however, the two lovers are united by Talon's magic lasso.

Supernova | Bluestone

Kara's mission is strictly to observe human kind. However, in violation of planet Nova's prime directive, Kara has chosen to become Supernova, a costumed vigilante with superhuman powers. Unfortunately, Supernova has a dangerous nemesis. Xander is a power mad scientist, who wants to take over the world. In order to defeat Supernova, Xander recruits the help of another extraterrestrial, Kali.

Most mortals can do little harm to Supernova, but Kali has a special weapon that can destroy her. Yet, Kali is not the least bit interested in helping Xander. She wants to claim the Earth for her own kind. Always prepared for every contingency, Xander has a weapon of his own that can de-power both aliens. But, before he kills Supernova, he wants to teach her a lesson in humility. There are two alternative endings, one where Xander wins, and one where Supernova is victorious.

Criticism: Compared to other low-budget superheroine peril productions, the fight scenes are well choreographed, the special effects are good, and the acting is fair. However, what really sets Bluestone apart from the rest of the field is the effort they make to develop a plot. In a typical superheroine peril drama, there isn't much to it. The overconfident champion of justice simply walks straight into a trap and then gets owned by the villains. This simple scheme is used over and over again in hundreds of films. It's all too predictable, and very unimaginative.

Bluestone, on the other hand, strings together numerous short films into an ongoing series. They have the usual variety of sexy crime fighters: Batbabe, Superchick, and Wonderful Woman, etc. However, all the superheroines belong to the same community, therefore, their individual story lines can be weaved together into one narrative. Per usual, Bluestone heroines are stereotyped and predictable, but the villains are not. Many characters have ulterior motives, and others are mind-controlled. In effect, we can't easily tell the good guys from the bad ones, and this is why Bluestone dramas are far more intriguing than what is normal for this genre. As for Danica, she's a bit too thin for my taste, butt she does have nice hips, and her acting skills are above average for a 'B movie' actress.

This is a two part series with two different endings, one where Xander kills Supernova, and one where Supernova defeats him.

Synopsis: Due to the failure of Queen Regina to produce a royal heir, her marriage to King Gilmoran VIII has been annulled. In order to find a suitable replacement, 10 carefully selected athletes will compete in the ancient no-holds-barred Contest of Champions. If more than one contestant survives treacherous ordeals in the jungle, desert and ocean, the new queen of the Gilmoran empire will be determined by woman-to-woman combat.

Critique: Perhaps you'd like to see athletic women desperately trying to escape enormous monsters intent on eating them alive. Or, maybe you like brutal catfights. The plot is intriguing, and the surprise ending may come as quite a shock! As for my own taste, the story is simply too far fetched. I prefer the boy-meets-girl romance featured in Savage Hearts 2021.

Whether or not I like a comic comes down to two issues: 1) How females are illustrated, and 2) Plot & Theme.

I do like characters who are superior to ordinary women, nevertheless, I relate better to someone who has human limitations. In Fight Girls, all the competitors have the type of physique that you'd expect to see on elite athletes, who we presume don't take muscle building drugs and don't have silicone implants. Frankly, I find Jungle Girl (another one of Frank Cho's characters) to be more provocative, but I still prefer Fight Girls characters to the Ronnie Coleman lookalikes that are popular on Saradas. Fight Girls are illustrated far more realistically than Bronwyn in Savage Hearts. In terms of an entertaining story, however, I prefer Savage Hearts. I certainly don't desire a weakling for a companion, but if the heroine is completely indomitable, what does she need a man for?

A dissatisfied secret agent longs for a pleasurable demise at the hands of a sexy femme fatale. As crazy as it seems, the villain hopes to turn his masochistic fantasy into reality, butt he still has to find a dominatrix who can actually defeat him. Unfortunately, even an amazon with superhuman strength and reflexes is far too impotent to achieve his ends. In fact, it takes the ruffian less than 5 minutes to render a practically defenseless freedom fighter completely unconscious.

If the other criminals had known how easy it is to fold and carry off the world's mightiest heroine, they would have put a swift end to the seemingly futile crime fighting career of Ultrawoman. Butt, this collector has other plans for such fine booty, now that the voluptuous young maiden is trapped in his lair and groveling at his feet.

In a stroke of pure genius, the villain correctly deduces that he can only be subdued by a woman with normal strength. So, the clever villain uses special technology to neutralize Ultrawoman's powers. And, exactly as he predicted, the champion of poetic justice is finally able to put an end to the bastard's wretched existence.
