She had the best draw for US Open all top players including defending champion in other section (cancelling one another out). How nice for her.  The last time she played Stosur she just won but was so stuffed she was beaten easily next match.  She had a dream run in 2012 at US Open until final.

I was so happy that she won. Hopefully she will be number one again soon. If Rena is on top of her game none of the other girls can beat her.

She was beaten today quite well. I guess Victoria Azarenka (N0.1) will win it now. Serena was expected by many to win with her power. Did not work out that way. Synthetic courts are not to everyones liking. Australia used to have grass and many hardcourts like USA but not anymore mainly rebound ace or similar.

I heared Serena suffered a back injury in Set 2 and lost the match subsequently.

Yes but the rising young American Sloane Stephens really took it to her and made her run etc.. I think there has been a question over her (injury status) since at least the 2012 US open where she had a dream run to the final.  She is getting on a bit as well.
