"Pole Fitness", Now why don't call it by its real name "Stripper Pole".   

I wonder if it will be full nude or just topless?

Its a real sport and has not much to do with the pole from night clubs - most of the girls are really muscular - form follows function. The gils do not strip, its more kind of hard gymnastics combined with dance ...
You should not blame pole fitness, you should ask, why there is no bodybuilding and no physique at the arnolds!!!!
Shame on you!!!!!!!

I'm not putting down the women in pole fitness, and yes I'm sure they are in great shape.   
But come on here!  We all know exactly what this is.

And you should also note a lot of strippers are athletes.
Hell there are even ones that would do well in a bodybuilding contest. 
But pole fitness is just another name for stripper pole.
I wonder if the women will have to come out and give the judges a lap dance?   

Replacing female bodybuilding with Pole Dancing will get rid of anyone's misguided image of the IFBB as a serious bodybuilding federation.
It never truly was, but at least it went threw the motions of pretending to be one.   
Hell I don't know why the IFBB didn't just go bouncing boobies pageant.
Then the IFBB would still work and they could keep their current letterhead.

pole fitness teachers make more money with classes than most bodybuilders with classes - most of top athletes that make no nudity and strip at all. that level might be more away from lapdance, webcam and private sessions than http://saradas.org/index.php?board=23.0
alos there is a big crossover - many pole athletes compete in bikini or fitness class and some fitness athletes got pole athletes or do both in same time.

Problem is not the addition of pole fitness, but cutting down the female bodybuilding - not only at the arnolds, but also at other pro shows and in the amateur level too.
The reasons for the general cut down of hardcore women bodybuilding is a lack of attractivity - of the women and the presentation. , Maybe same will happen with mens bodybuilding too one day ...

Its sad the Arnolds are cutting womens bodybuilding down, because it is the biggest multisport event in the usa and original coming from bodybuilding with a big history of miss international. The solution is not complaining about pole fitness but making female bodybuilding and athletes more attractive.

I Don't see anyone blaming Pole Fitness. At the end of the day, well done to them for getting included in the Arnold.
It's more a case that Arnold is a role model for bodybuilders, male and female, and bodybuilding was his chosen road from poverty to international fame and fortune. An inspiration and hope giver for thousands, maybe millions.

It is hard to accept that in fact, bodybuilding is now a side show at an event that carries his name. Female bodybuilding and the still very new ( just over 2 years!) Physique contests cast aside, and male bodybuilding could be next. OK, times change, but still odd to see the event evolve into a mish mash of events, the core purpose of the event, to celebrate international bodybuilding is going.

So FBB is dead, long live Pole Dancing!

He casts aside FBB  (it's his show therefore his perogative to do as he wants) but to eliminate physique?, especially since it's the 'new kid on the block'? those gals should be given a fair look at what is supposedly one of the biggest events on the competition calendar. If any dudes truly want to see '"pole fitness", that's what the local gentlemen's clubs are for.(just don't tell the wives/girlfriends what you're up to)

I don't mean to be so dramatic but really this is a sad state for the sport.

Well said; and you're not being dramatic.  It is exactly what you said it is.  They've already jumped the shark megalodon here; and if this was Arnold's call personally (especially the inclusion of pole-fitness), I suppose it goes appropriately with his character as of late.

It's only a matter of time before the other shoe drops, and the Olympia drops women's BB and physique.  Before long, they'll try to eliminate fitness and figure as well.  Like I said before, I think future amateur women's BB/physique winners who qualify for a pro card may end up refusing to accept one because there will be no place for them among the IFBB ranks.

They'll have to create a new organization just for them, and work very quickly to get sponsors for it, before this decade becomes a lost decade for women's BB, physique and perhaps even fitness/figure, a decade from which they might never recover.

You're absolutely correct Cooky, the only problem is that no one is willing to pull the trigger financially and pony up the cash to start a new fed to rival the almighty Weider Corp. So unless that happens,like you said,this decade might not be one they can recover from. That said,we've all said FBB is dying for basically the last decade or so and it is still hanging in there (barely) so who knows what the future holds
