Any good movies you've seen recently?

I went to see Master of the Universe and enjoyed it. This He-Man movie was much better than the 1987 film. The movie captured the essence of the 1983 series and the MOTU universe as a whole. I hope it gets a sequel, but the box office numbers are low.

Glad to hear Masters of the Universe was actually good. I grew up with the cartoons, so I'm happy they stayed closer to the spirit of the original series. I've heard mixed things about the box office, but sometimes these movies find a bigger audience after the theatrical run.

As for recent movies, I finally got around to watching Dune: Part Two and thought it lived up to the hype. The visuals were incredible, and it felt like the rare sequel that actually improves on the first film.

I also enjoyed The Fall Guy. Nothing groundbreaking, but it was a fun, old-school action movie with some great stunt work and didn't take itself too seriously.

On the streaming side, I recently watched The Killer and thought it was worth seeing if you like slower-paced thrillers.

Curious what everyone else has seen lately. Any hidden gems that flew under the radar? I'm always looking for something new to add to the watch list.

If you are a fan of 1980s related franchises I suggest seeing the Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The first move and the sequel were loyal to the source material, but added something new.

I agree. One thing I liked about both movies is that they respected the games without trying to reinvent everything. They captured the fun, colorful feel of the Mario universe while still adding enough new material to make them enjoyable as movies rather than just fan service.

If you grew up in the '80s and '90s with Nintendo, there's definitely a lot of nostalgia, but I don't think that's the only reason they work. They're simply entertaining films with plenty of references for longtime fans and enough humor and action for people who aren't hardcore gamers.

Hopefully Nintendo continues in this direction with future adaptations. It's a huge improvement over the 1993 live-action film, and it shows that you can stay faithful to the source material while still creating something fresh for modern audiences.

I like the Mario Bros Movie , but the sequel is better. Super Mario Galaxy did more with world building and added more action. The only thing I wish was that it was a bit longer. I'm happy that a third one will be coming in 2029. Watch the psot credits scene and you'll see we are in for a great intsallment.
