FIRST DAY OF TRAINING
The bell that woke up the monastery was sounded at four in the morning and I had slept rather fitfully with plenty of dreams of dropping down mountainsides into deep chasms below. Still, I was looking forward to my first day of training.
My mentor (Senzei was Japanese term the Tibetans didn't like to use for some reason) was a man whose name I could hardly memorise, let alone pronounce so he allowed me to call him Rgad Po, which was the Tibetan translation of Old Man. When I asked whether Old Man itself would suffice as well, he just gave me a bland look, so Rgad Po it was.
Then, before I knew what happened, he had hit me in the stomach and I'd had not time to flex my (if I may say so myself) very impressive abs. I'd never been hit by a bullet, but I imagine it must feel something like this. He hit me with outstretched fingers, something which was strongly discouraged by other martial artists, but instead of breaking those fingers on my rock-hard abs, he had put so much focus into the hit that it felt like he'd paralysed my whole midsection, making me double over automatically and giving me the feeling I had to throw up. Fortunately, I hadn't eaten anything yet, so there was no food in my stomach.
'Geez!' I said, 'I hope that's not because I asked whether I could call you Old Man!' But once again, his hand struck out and though I was able to swerve aside a bit in an unconscious reflex, he hit me straight above my right collarbone.
'You listened to your reflexes and I predicted those, so I hit you right where I wanted.'
I thought this was a bit rich and was about to say so, but found that I couldn't speak, nor could I lift my right arm. He must have hit some pretty intricate nerve-centre and I felt humiliated in a way I hadn't felt since my father died.
'You see, all that muscle is of little use against someone who can disable every single one of those muscles with a touch,' the old man said matter-of-factly.
'Do I have permission to hit back or is this one of those stories in which the heroine has to learn to endure pain before she can learn how to strike?' I asked when I gained control over my speech again. I was burning to prove that my muscles weren't just for show even though the man was right: they had been of little use so far.
'Oh, this is no story. Feel free to try and hit me if you want. You will find that my defences are just as effective as my touch.'
I lashed out with my fist, but, as expected, he easily dodged my blow.
'That was a tad disappointing,' he said. 'I had expected you to be faster. You carry your body with a lot of confidence and control... for a westerner.'
While my right fist was still sailing through the air, I tried to tackle him with my left foot.
I almost connected with his feet, but at the last moment he jumped impossibly high into the air and hit me in the face with his left foot.
I was now becoming quite annoyed, as I wasn't used to being bested in combat. Worse still, I wasn't just bested, I was completely helpless against a man who was at least thrice my age. My years of training in combat sports had taught me, however, not to let my frustration get the better of me. Patience was of the essence and it was clear that I wasn't going to knock out this opponent today.
'What is it this guy says in the Matrix?' the man asked with a twinkle in his eye. 'Stop trying to hit me and hit me!'
I concentrated and focussed entirely on the man, forgetting all about my surroundings.
Then, in a moment between two of his breaths, I punched, not aiming for the place where he was standing, but for the spot where he was going to be.
It was only a glancing blow with which I struck him, but the fraction of a second in which I saw surprise on his face was priceless. There was no look of pain, but then I hadn't tried to injure him. I was hoping for a compliment or at least an acknowledgement of my skill, but he didn't say a thing and just hit me again, this time on my left obliques.
My knees buckled under me and I was on the ground before I knew it. I realised I had been blinded by my pride and that he'd used that very pride against me. I had let my defences down completely and was now paying the price.
The man simply left the room, leaving me lying there.
It felt like I lay there for half an hour before I was able to stand up again and I felt really sore, sorer even than I had felt when climbing the Mountain that May not Be Climbed. Soreness was good, though, because it meant my body was reacting to a challenge.
That night I ate my fill of yak meat and drinking something that looked like milk.
'What is this?' I asked, because it didn't taste like any milk I'd ever tasted.
One of the monks answered: 'Yeti brew. You know... Big Snowman.' That was about the extent of his English and he continued in Tibetan, which I of course didn't understand, but he'd definitely used the word Yeti, which meant I was on the trail of the mysterious creatures and that led to a feeling of contentment.
Then my mentor entered the dining-hall and I tried to make eye-contact, to express gratitude for his training, but he simply ignored me. There was no way he hadn't noticed me: I was the only white person in the hall and I outweighed each of the monks by over a hundred pounds.
Speaking of which, most of the other monks seemed to steer clear of me as well, which was curious, I thought, because how many opportunities would they get to talk to a foreigner? There appeared to be some code among them, but I didn't fully understand the dynamics of monastic life yet. I knew I wouldn't get laid in this place, but I'd expected some male interest in my body. After all, I'd been working on it for years.
Finally one mousy guy sat down opposite me and introduced himself as Tashi. It was hard to understand his English, but I guess in the west he would have been what is called a geek, because he wanted to know all about superheroes from comic books and movies.
Or at least, that was what I thought he meant, until he mentioned She-Hulk and I knew the direction in which he was steering the conversation.
He asked me to flex my biceps and I did, but it felt odd in this place, as though it were a form of sacrilege.

AN UNQUIET NIGHT
Having no gym equipment was odd. At home I was used to working out heavily every night before going to sleep, but here I only had my own body weight to challenge myself with. The bed consisted of little more than a mattress on some wooden planks and apart from it, my room was completely bare. There wasn't even a chest for my clothes that I could have lifted. I did some one-fingered push-ups, alternating between my different digits, but somehow I didn't feel as challenged as I would have been in a different place. I went through some kata's of jiu-jitsu, then karate and taekwondo.
Then I heard someone moving through the corridor outside my room and I was wondering whether I was making too much noise.
This place was really starting to freak me out. I found myself continually wondering whether my actions were out of place here.
Then there were voices and strangely enough, they were speaking in English.
'I'm telling you she's a danger to your order,' I heard a grating voice say in fluent English.
'Nevertheless we must receive her, as our dharma demands.' This voice was more accented.
'You would follow your dharma even if it meant your death!'
'And you clearly don't understand dharma if you speak in that way. The gods have allowed her to climb the mountain, so we are honour-bound to receive her.'
'Her muscles allowed her to climb the mount, not your foolish gods!'
Then I heard a thwack, which sounded like someone being hit with a stick.
After that there was silence and I didn't even hear footsteps anymore. My mind was running overtime, and I was madly curious about the Englishman's voice (it had sounded way too posh and sophisticated to belong to an American).
I opened my door and stepped into the shadowy corridor, my heart racing faster than while running a four-minute mile. There was complete silence, unlike anything I'd ever heard back in Europe. Even the wind outside could not be heard and I tried to tread on tip-toe but had the impression that my breathing could be heard from ten yards away. Still, there was no one else and no sign of the two men who had just had the conversation. I was wondering why they'd even had it right outside my door. That sounded extremely careless, so maybe I'd been hearing voices? I've heard it said that living in utter silence can produce that effect but I'd never thought of myself as being prone to any form of insanity, least of all to hearing voices. Then I got the idea that it might just have been a test, but if it was I had no idea what was being tested and how I should react.
I took some more steps through the corridor and turned a corner and there was a man sitting on the ground, in what could only be a deep meditation.
It took me a moment to realise he was levitating.
I gasped and that was all the man hidden in the shadows needed. In a moment he was on me, using the same technique Rgad Po had used to disable me.
For a moment I was stunned, but I refused to be defeated so easily.
I knew it was just a trick of the mind and I merely needed to convince myself.
'This is just an illusion,' I muttered, but raising my fist seemed to take ages. It took me two full seconds to raise it to the level of my attacker's
Of course, by that time he was running off.
I spurted off after him, rounding the corridor, back in the direction of my own room, my feet pounding the ground. I must have woken the whole monastery.
A bell sounded from up high, but I didn't care. I was really pissed by now and quite freaked out by all the events so far. My fists ached to hurt someone, even though I am not by nature a violent woman. But all this artful dodging and those ninja-like techniques were not my cup of tea. It was time I introduced these monks to good old-fashioned wrestling, something in which I could teach them a lesson.
One of the monks came out of his room, his head still sleepy and his hands still in the process of putting his hair in a bun. I had no time to evade him and slammed my shoulder straight into his chest. He toppled over as if he were a bowling pin, but I didn't stop.
'What is all this noise?' Rgad Po asked softly, as he stepped in my way.
I don't know if it is was another trick of his, but I stood dead in my tracks. 'I was attacked,' I said, as calmly as I could.
He looked at me questioningly and I continued: 'One moment I saw a monk levitating in the corridor and the next moment someone hit me with one of your techniques.' There was a slight raising of one of his eyebrows. 'Before that, I heard a voice speaking in the kind of English I usually associate with the Queen or Shakespeare.'
'Mi Dkar Po,' Rgad Po said in a voice of awe.
The words were followed by whispers from the other monks.
'What's that?' I asked, a bit vexed at being left in the dark. 'You know about the Englishman in your monastery?'
'I have never seen him,' Rgad Po said. 'But we have all been scared by tales about the White Man when we were kids.'
'At the risk of sounding stupid: this man was around when you were a kid?'
'If he is indeed here, you must leave. I urge you to do so for your own safety. Yesterday afternoon you stood no chance against me. I would stand no chance against Mi Dkar Po'
'Oh, we'll see about that,' I scoffed. Beating an old Tibetan monk at martial arts might be impossible, but fighting an Englishman, I fancied my chances.
'Mi Dkar Po is...' Rgad Po seemed to be looking for the right word. 'I think you call it... a bodybuilder.'
This sounded interesting. I didn't know if there was any truth to this story, because if he had indeed been around when Rgad Po was young, it would be exceptional if he were still a bodybuilder, but I loved to match my strength against men, especially the stronger ones. I tied my hair in a ponytail, making sure the monks got a good look at my forty-inch arms, and took a deep breath so that they could see just how massive my chest was.
I saw one of the monks nearly fainting and thought I saw bulges in the robes of some of them. So far I hadn't been sure whether they were eunuchs, but it was clear that not only were they physically capable of sexual arousal, they were also psychologically unable to withstand my sensuality. It gave me a feeling of great power. I adjusted my breasts in my tank top and saw all the monks trying to find a spot to focus both their eyes and their minds on, but one of them, the one who had mentioned She-Hulk, failed in this. He was simply staring, the way a sixteen-year-old back in Europe would stare at the Kardashians.
'Good, that's right in my league,' I said confidently.
'No, no, I think you misunderstand. He's stronger than normal human beings. No woman can possibly match him.'
'Is that so? Was he ever able to climb your Mountain the way I did?' I said defiantly. 'Or lift a man like this?' I continued, walking over to She-Hulk guy, grabbing him by his robes and lifting him over my head one-handed. She-Hulk-guy gave a soft moan which could have been either from pleasure or from fear. Or maybe both.'
'It is not good to be overly confident,' Rgad Po said, wise Yoda that he was. 'You may think you're strong, but there are things of which you're not capable. Remember how easily I incapacitated you yesterday?'
'Yeah, about that. I was hoping I could get a chance at revenge today.'
For a moment there was a glint of what looked like anger in his eyes. Then he simply inclined his head and said. 'Be ready in one hour.'
I returned to my room and tried to meditate to calm my mind. I was visualising the moves Rgad Po had made yesterday, so that I would not fall for his same tricks.
Unconsciously, my body reacted with the moves that would counter his and I began training my muscle memory straight through my imagination.
After half an hour I felt ready to combat Rgad Po again. I spent the remaining half hour trying to come up with an offensive strategy that would surprise him.
I heard a bell sounding somewhere outside my room and knew that it was to summon me to the training room.
'So you've come to learn more,' he said when I entered the room.
'Yes, I'm always eager to improve myself, no matter what your philosophy says.'
'You carry yourself with more confidence than yesterday,' he answered.
'That's because I've learned since then. I haven't come here to take another beating.' Then after a small silence I added: 'With all due respect.'
'Have it your way then,' he said and I saw the ever so slight widening of his nostrils that indicated he was going to attack.
The next moment his right hand was aiming for my obliques, but I dodged the danger, then locked his arm between my obliques and my arm.
The next moment, I lifted him off the ground and pushed.
He fell back against the wall and I was worried that I'd hurt him, as the impact was a lot louder than I'd expected.
'I'm sorry,' I said as I moved over in concern.
'Don't be,' he coughed and then he tried to swipe me off my feet, but he found that I stood a lot more steadily than the students he was used to teaching.
'Nice try,' I answered, then punched, but as he rolled away, my fist only hit the ground.
As I stood there, he whirled around me, then climbed on my back.
I tried to use momentum to send him flying, but he was on his feet in an instant.
Pleasing as it was that I now had the upper hand against him, it was frustrating to find that none of my attacks seemed to really worry him. I was already beginning to lose my patience and I knew that he would use that to his advantage, so instead I forced myself to just stand there and wait for his next move. I found that I was breathing more heavily than he was, as though our fight hadn't in the least exhausted him.
Then he attacked in a flurry of hands that seemed to hit me everywhere. It was almost as if he had eight hands at that moment and each one of those was distracting me from the others. He was hitting me continually, though the punches weren't hard. They were more like a nuisance, like a mosquito flying around my head on a nice summer day.
Then I began to see the rhythm in his moves and I started to dance along.
Suddenly he stopped and said: 'Good work.' I'd never been so pleased with a compliment.

THE CAVE
From that moment something changed in our relationship of student and mentor. Where before I'd had the feeling I was a nuisance to him, I now got the sense that he wanted to teach me as often as he could.
'Your style is very good,' he was soon complimenting me.
'Thank you master,' I answered respectfully, though inwardly I was burning with pride.
'You are not like the other students, especially the Western ones, who come only to become better than others. In you I can sense a desire to reach your own full potential, regardless of what others think of you.'
This had always seemed a matter of course to me, since being born in my family as a woman meant that I was supposed to hone my skills as best I could. So far I had dedicated my whole life to becoming a superior specimen of my kind.
'I guess you could possibly be the most muscular woman alive and yet you come here, rather than competing in sports which could earn you a lot of money.'
This, too, had been a matter of course to me, ever since I had started competing against men as a girl. I had found that no man liked to be bested by a woman, least of all a teenager. Worse, they always came up with rules to protect their own dominance and this felt so unfair that I'd simply stopped competing against them.
When I told him this, he said that it indicated that I had reached the highest form of acceptance, because I felt no need to justify or prove myself and only established a new fact. Here was a man who seemed to understand me better than anyone had ever understood me before.
'But muscle alone is not enough. You need more discipline, as I can see there is a fire blazing inside you that might burn you up one day.'
'If you mean the fire of ambition, then you're absolutely right and I have no intention of quenching it, even if that is your objective.'
'Oh no, feel free to be as ambitious as you want to be. I do have an assignment for you that you will find difficult, because it takes more than strength to beat it.'
Now I was intrigued. 'More than strength? I also have plenty of determination and my IQ was once measured to be 160.'
He chuckled. 'And your ego seems to match that number.'
He then told me that if I wanted to meet the Yeti, I would need to be able to find shelter for myself and in the mountains that meant finding a habitable cave. He told me of the signs that indicated the presence of such a place.
'Can't I just create a cave of my own?' I interrupted him.
'Build a cave?' he asked, more puzzled than I'd seen him before. 'You mean you want to construct a cave by placing rocks on top of each other?'
'No, I was thinking more around the lines of excavation. I don't want to have to depend upon fortune to provide me with a cave.
'But carrying equipment to excavate a cave would be far too cumbersome,' he pointed out.
'Who said I'd need equipment?'
'Well, how else would you do it?'
'Back in my home country I use my bare hands and feet.'
'Impossible,' Rgad Po whispered in a sigh, something which was comparable to another man's eyes bulging out of his skull.
'No, you use that word too lightly. I like to challenge the limits of what's impossible and, excuse me for saying so, but you seem to underestimate me more than a little bit. I have to admit that is starting to get annoying.'
'You truly are a marvel and forgive me if we underestimate you, but I for one have never seen a woman as strong as you.'
'I should think you've never seen a man as strong as me either,' I added.
'Let's go outside and examine that cave-making technique of your.'
We both went out, he in his robes, me in my shorts and tank top, despite the temperature which was around -40° Celsius.
Rgad Po seemed to be so light that he almost didn't leave any imprint in the three feet of snow, while I had to plough my way through.
He took me to a rock face, where I first had to remove the snow to find that there was a smooth piece of smooth stone underneath.
'Show me,' Rgad Po said, while stroking his beard.
I went into the trance-like state in which I hardly feel any pain and took two full minutes to focus all my strength into my right arm. Then I punched into the rock, hard enough to create a network of visible cracks in it. I found that I hadn't punched hard enough, though, because the cracks didn't run deep enough. So I struck again.
Rgad Po's eyes by now were almost bulging out of his skull.
Fortunately we were high up on the mountain, because once in my teenage years I'd performed the same trick and had caused an avalanche that buried me in twelve feet of snow. I'd had to dig my way out of that all on my own.
Now that the cracks were deep enough, the rock had been fragmented into pieces which I could simply pry out of the whole.
As I started taking out large chunks of rock, I realised that I hadn't taken into account the cold. I didn't wished to admit to such naivety, though, so I kept working even when my fingers started bleeding. Soon, a small puddle of blood soaked into the snow beneath where I was working, but I did not give up.
After a short while I had made a hole big enough to put my arm into it and I could then proceed with the next stage. I put my whole arm into the hole and then proceeded to flex my biceps, creating an even greater space.
By now, Rgad Po said that I had proven my point, but in fact it no longer mattered whether he believed me. I simply wanted to create a cave big enough for me to sleep in tonight. It was no longer enough to merely impress him. I had to astonish him.
Night was coming on, but I wasn't done yet, so Rgad Po went out to fetch some wood for a fire. By the time he returned, I was sitting comfortably within my self-made cave, while outside the snow had began to come down in a torrent.
I made space for him to sit next to me and it must have been a funny sight, as I was about two feet taller and 200 pounds heavier than him. I almost felt like cuddling him to keep him warm, but that idea seemed preposterous. There was no way this man was going to snuggle up to a woman, not in a thousand years, I thought. And yet the next moment I found myself laying my big arm across his small shoulders.
I was amazed when he laid his head upon my chest and I was afraid he could feel my heart hammering from the excitement I felt as I realised I had indeed astonished him.

Awesome chapter.  Love how we have gotten a glimpse into the early years of her belief defying strength and invulnerability.  Great job!

THE YETI
I guess we must both have fallen asleep, lying there in each other's arms, because I was surprised by a grunting noise that was far too close. I cursed myself for having let my guard down and went outside to see the source of the noise.
There, not far away, was a large creature, burrowing in the snow and it took me a moment to realise that the grunting was an expression of joy. This creature wasn't looking for food, it was playing with the snow.
Rgad Po had followed me out of the cave and laid a hand upon my shoulder, saying: 'Be careful around the Yeti. It is far stronger than any human being.' When I cast a significant glance over my shoulder, he added: 'or at least, so we'd always thought.' I guess that he was learning from me, as much as I was learning from him. He had some pretty conservative ideas about the potential strength of the female body.
Then the creature turned around.
It was easily eight feet tall and it must have weighed close to five-hundred pounds though its exact dimensions were hard to ascertain through the combination of fur and snow.
I walked towards it, showing it my empty hands, making sure not to look too offensive. For the first time in ages I felt dwarfed by another humanoid.
Then it bared its fangs and I only had a moment to take three big steps back before it charged, not with the lumbering gait you expect from a creature so big, but with big, athletic, determined strides. As I was in the middle of my fourth step back, it knocked me over right into the snow, but instead of finishing me off right then and there (as I thought it actually might have), it started sniffing me. I don't know if human pheromones smell attractive to a Yeti, but at least it didn't attack me again. Rgad Po whispered that it had probably thought that I, with my size, had been a man, and I wasn't sure I could take that as a compliment. There was some confusion on the humanoid's face as it dawned on it that I was a female of my species.
Then it gave me a lick and that was when I had enough of it.
No matter how unique it might be, I did not like that wet tongue upon my bare abdomen.
'Enough, big guy,' I warned it.
I gently pushed it away, but gentleness was of little use against a five-hundred pound creature. I knew that I had to assert my dominance, otherwise it would always feel it was standing above me in the pecking order and that was something I just couldn't accept. I took its huge forelimb, I guess I could call it a forearm, which was at least sixty inches in circumference.
The only way I could get a good grip on it was by grasping a tuft of its fur, but this appeared to be something the Yeti did not like and it slapped away my hand. The force with which it struck me was beyond almost anything I'd ever felt before. Almost, because I had once been hit by a charging bull and the force of this one arm, being waved around so carelessly was about equal to that.
I tried to get up, but the Yeti wasn't fine with this and it pushed me down. I took all of my strength merely to push up my upper body with my arms and it was like benching a small car to push its arms away. There was a look of surprise on its face, almost human in its expression, but then it quickly changed to anger. Clearly, the Yeti wasn't used to being resisted. But neither was I. I made small cooing noises to make it clear that I meant no harm, but the Yeti didn't like to be cooed either. It bared its fangs and I thought it best to sit down in the snow again, in order to avoid a direct confrontation. Not that I was afraid of it, but I surely didn't want to harm this elusive creature in any way.
'Look, I don't know what you want,' I spoke softly.
Then it seemed to be making an effort to answer me, but the sounds it brought forth were nothing like English and probably unlike any other human language as well.
'Wait, do you understand me?' I asked, speaking very slowly.
It's head moved up and down, but I couldn't be sure it was nodding.
It now allowed me to sit up, though it growled dangerously when I tried to get to my feet. I decided to remain seated to win its trust.
'You are one big man,' I complimented it.
Since its face was covered by fur, it couldn't blush, but it did look away almost demurely.
'You really do understand me, don't you,' I observed. 'My name's Cindy and I've come from far away to meet you and your kind. At least, I assume that you have a kind and that you're not alone. I mean you no harm and I'll make sure you won't be bothered by other human beings on my account.'
As I mentioned other human beings, its nostrils flared.
'I'm not the first human you've encountered, am I?' I asked.
If anything, the creature seemed frightened by my words, as if it had had terrible experiences with my kind before.
Then something dawned on me and I whispered the words 'Mi Dkar Po.' The Yeti actually cowered in fright.
I was looking over my shoulder for Rgad Po, assuming he could help me translate, but the old man was nowhere to be seen.
'Don't worry. If Mi Dkar Po shows up, I'll beat him into a pulp.' I said with a confident smile.
The creature now stood up to its full size and took a threatening pose, but it was not to intimidate me, I read from its body language, but to show me that it would have no trouble beating a grown man into a pulp itself. It made me even more curious about the existence of this Mi Dkar Po, who apparently frightened even a Yeti.
Then I stood up to my full height as well and went into a most muscular pose, to show it that I was not to be trifled with either.
The Yeti actually touched my biceps and squeezed.
'Whoa there, big man, don't worry. They're rock solid.'
Indeed, even the Yeti only managed to dent it by only two millimetres.
Then it started to feel my other muscles and I just let it touch me wherever it wanted, even when it cupped my boobs in its big hands.
Its breathing quickened, as if it was excited by touching an actual human being. Or maybe, it was getting aroused, but its pubic area was covered by such thick fur that it was impossible to ascertain whether it had an erection.

Wookey

Crossbreeding with a Yeti? An interesting concept K++.

WRESTLING A YETI
The Yeti turned around and motioned for me to follow it. It took off in its long strides and I had not only the disadvantage of shorter legs, but also the fact that a larger proportion of my body was covered by snow with every step I took. I made large movements with my arms, just as if I was swimming, only through water that was far denser than the water of a swimming pool. Another person would have been exhausted after only two minutes of this ordeal, but not me. At one point I even made a huge snowball (its diameter must have been ten feet) and threw it at the Yeti.
Since I'd made the ball extremely compact, it was almost as hard as ice and when I heard it crashing into its skull I was afraid for a moment that I might have caused it harm. It seemed to have the opposite effect, though, as the creature turned around and appeared to be laughing. Then it scooped up an even bigger ball of snow and started to compact it within its hands. When it threw the ball at me, it didn't take into account that I was much smaller than his kin.
The ball hit me with such force that I was pushed backwards but I managed to stay on my feet and had to laugh as well. The ice-ball had hit me with the force of an explosive projectile, but it felt good to have finally met someone that was in my league strength wise.
Following the Yeti became even harder when it started descending the so-called Unclimbable Mountain at a pace which was hard to keep up with.
Its toes were more flexible than our human ones, allowing it to grasp foot-holds which were impossible for me to stand on in my snow-boots. I wondered whether taking off the boots would make things better, but even if I had wanted to, there was no time for it now.
I was curious where the Yeti was taking me and oddly enough, I felt no fear at all. This creature was huge and strong, but it meant me no harm.
At one point while descending the mountain, I caused a small avalanche when I slipped and I only barely managed to grasp a protruding rock, which prevented me from falling down.
Immediately, the Yeti turned around and held out its paw-like hand. Even without that I would have been able to get on my feet again but it was good to know that someone was looking after me in this inhospitable environment. The hand was big enough to envelop my whole forearm and the grip was extremely tight though not painful. It hoisted up my 350 pounds effortlessly and I fervently wished to arm-wrestle it any time soon to compare my strength to that of the creature. Full-body wrestling would have me at a severe disadvantage because it was so much bigger than me, but maybe my technical skills would give me an edge. The Yeti was extremely buff but in no way shredded, and my muscles were more clearly defined, especially since most of them were left bare by my outfit.
Time and again, the Yeti would cast a glance over its shoulder and I got the distinct impression that it was checking out my body. Of course I was nothing like the scrawny monks of the monastery and I could hardly imagine this Mi Dkar Po being bigger than me. At least not by much. Jogging through the mountains proved an excellent workout that actually made me sweat a little, but my body temperature was high enough to prevent the sweat from freezing over instantly. It was my best workout in years.
Finally we came to a stop, though I had no idea why. I wasn't in need of a pause yet, so the Yeti probably wasn't either. Then I saw some movement within the thick snow deck and a minute later, five more Yeti appeared. They were a lot bigger than my companion, which led me to the conclusion that the one I had found playing in the snow was probably just a youngster. Some of the adults were over twelve feet tall and must have weighed over a ton. A fire kindled in my heart at the thought that I might wrestle one of these creatures, not necessarily to win, but to learn new moves and tricks.
The tallest of the Yeti, a fifteen-foot monster, walked up to me and laid a paw on my shoulder that was a lot bigger than the biggest baseball-glove I'd ever seen.
Maybe this was some form of greeting, but I had no idea what the proper response would be. Maybe I was supposed to lay my arm on its shoulder, but those shoulders only started four feet over my head.
The big Yeti started to feel my muscles, as though uncertain whether they were real. It squeezed my upper arms in a slightly painful way, but my arm didn't budge as it tried to dent it. I was not in the business of being overpowered, not even by a being as big as this. The curiosity it showed for me was of course mutual, but I didn't know whether it was okay for me to explore its body with my hands as well. Its upper arms were easily five times as big as my forty-inch flexed biceps and I was pretty sure this creature would have no trouble bringing down a building with its bare hands. When it started to explore my glutes, things became a bit embarrassing, but probably a human ass doesn't carry sexual attraction to a Yeti.
Then it simply lifted me off the ground, its huge paws almost covering the whole of my glutes, and brought me up to its eye-level. I couldn't remember the last time I had been lifted like this. For the past eighteen years it had been I who had done all the lifting, and I found it a bit humiliating.
When it started clenching its fist around me, I had enough and I started to resist. I flexed my muscles, pushing outward its fingers and the creature looked at me in surprise, obviously not being used to such resistance.
Then I grabbed one of the fingers and gave it a big yank which made the Yeti yell out in pain. That should teach it that I wasn't just some kind of prey that it could woman-handle. It dropped me to the ground and I immediately got to my feet, which was lucky because it drove its fist straight into my abdomen. I had just time enough to flex my abs, but it hit me with incredible force. I grabbed the huge paw and tried to push it away, but the Yeti pushed back with the force of a locomotive. I used both my hands and summoning all the considerable strength that I had in my body, I managed a stalemate.
Then the Yeti tried to swipe me aside with its other paw.
This was almost too much and I grunted in frustration.
Of course I didn't let myself be pushed aside so easily and I managed to stay on my feet, though only barely.
It was a contest of wills as much as of strength.
Fortunately, I'm a very stubborn woman.
'You're giving me a great workout,' I said through clenched teeth. The battle was quite uneven because the Yeti was so much bigger than me.
But apart from that, pound for pound, I believed I was the stronger of the two.
I started watching its movements like I had studied the movements of Rgad Po and the Yeti was like a pendulum in its predictability. Every time I pushed away an arm, it would immediately strike me from the side with its other hand. One time I was surprised as it used its foot to kick me and I was sent flying through the air, but I landed painlessly in the snow and was now far enough away from it to try a charge. I picked up speed (I'm capable of running 40 mph on tarmac, but running through the snow slowed me down a lot) and rammed its knee with my left shoulder. I knew that if it was stupid enough to keep the knee locked, I could break it, no matter how strong the bone. The Yeti realised this as well and so it relaxed its leg, but that meant that I pushed away that huge limb from underneath it. It managed to keep its balance, but then I rammed its other leg as well and the whole huge beast toppled over.
It fell face-first into the snow with a resounding thud.
I climbed on top of the creature's back, then placed my thighs around its neck, for which I almost needed to do a full split, taking it into a very awkward scissors hold. I could feel its artery throbbing under my legs and it gave me a feeling of power more intense than I'd ever felt before. The Yeti howled in rage, but was wise enough not to try and stand up. Any effort to do so and I would squeeze down my thighs for a knock-out... or so I hoped. After some moments the howling was no longer that of rage but of a profound sadness. This creature was used to being the top of the food chain and had probably never met anything as strong as me. I didn't know about the sociology of Yeti society, but I could imagine that the male of their species were considered superior to the female.
'Take it easy, big guy,' I said, as I released it from my scissors hold.
As expected, the Yeti acknowledged that I had defeated it and did not try to attack me straightaway. I knew, however, that from now on I had to watch out as it was sure to challenge my superiority at one point or another. Alpha-males always did in my experience. It's probably an instinct hard-wired into their brains.
'I know you want your revenge and I'll give you an opportunity for it later,' I said coaxingly.
The other creatures now all came over, their eyes aimed below mine as a sign of respect and inferiority. It made me feel awkward for having overthrown their societal believes and mores so soon. Then again, I also remembered Mi Dkar Po and the fear the young Yeti had shown of him. I wondered whether he, too, could take down an Alpha-male like that in single, unarmed combat. Maybe, but had he been able to best one so soon after becoming acquainted with it? Some of the Yeti now even knelt down as if in some kind of ritual. Maybe they had an intricate pecking order and I thought it best not to attack another of their kind. I had wanted to show the Alpha-male that it could not bully me and I had not intended to dominate an entire species like this. I folded my hands and made a bow to show that I could be modest as well.
What struck me was that the females of the species all had gigantic breasts, nothing beneath an M-cup at least. What also struck me was that some of them seemed to be smiling inwardly, judging by the glint in their eyes.
Maybe the males of Yeti society were extremely oppressive.
Not for the first time I wished that Rgad Po were with me, but I was all alone among the Yeti's and the monastery was probably miles away.
I was led to a large cave, which looked partly man-made (or Yeti-made).
On the walls there were drawings, like those of prehistoric man in Europe.
One of these painting depicted a man much shorter than the Yeti in the drawings.
The artist had made an effort, though, to convey the size of this creature's muscles.
I realised that this could only be Mi Dkar Po and I spoke out his name, which led to a wail from one of the Yeti accompanying me.
'Why are you all so afraid of him?' I wondered out loud.
One of the females took my biceps into her hands and then made a movement indicating a much greater size.
I knew that I carried more muscle than any man on the planet, or at least that was what I thought I knew.
But maybe the Himalaya's harboured a secret even stranger than the Yeti: an immortal white man with the strength of the Hulk.

Wookey
