My wife is one of the Tanner girls. Created in 2042 by Doctor Melissa Tanner and her associates, who had attempted to create a female-dominated society by starting a “clinical drug trial” with a pill that allegedly was supposed to prevent birth defects. It actually ensured that, while any boys born to the test subjects were normal, any girls (and if a woman started on the pill early enough in her pregnancy it also ensured the child would be a girl) would be… essentially superhuman. My wife, Rachel, is at least ten feet tall (and still growing) with massive, bulging muscles all throughout her body, and her bones, muscles and skin are dense enough to stop bullets. And she is MUCH faster and more agile than her hulking frame would suggest. Her senses are superior to any animal or normal human by several orders of magnitude, and her IQ is “somewhere in the low one thousands” (her words). Her digestive system produces no waste, and she doesn’t sleep. Naturally, when she and the rest of her kind hit early puberty, people noticed something was up, leading to an investigation into Doctor Tanner’s operation. Tanner was arrested and got life in prison, but a number of people (especially her creations) advocate for her release, arguing that she had done humanity a great service. As intimidating as Rachel can be, I’d say they’re not wrong. I personally consider myself lucky.
