Piledriven Muscles

The fleet was in port for two weeks.

For Popeye and Bluto, that usually meant one thing—trouble. But without Olive Oyl around, even their usual rivalry had lost its spark.

Both sailors received the same note:

"Dear Boys,
Gone to Florida to help the studio move.
Be good (or at least try),
—Olive"

Bluto snorted. "Figures."

Popeye shrugged. "Yeah... guess we's on our own."

After a knowing look, the two split up—each with their own idea of "fun."

Across town, Summer sat in the office of Gandolfini Construction, watching her boyfriend Vinnie at work.

He was strong, loud, and larger-than-life—operating heavy machinery like it was nothing. Summer admired him, though lately she'd started noticing something else... a certain restlessness.

Suddenly—

CRASH!

A collision echoed from outside.

Moments later, Summer found herself caught in a crowd near the accident site. She stumbled—but a familiar sailor stepped in to help her up.

"Easy there," said Popeye.

Within minutes, the situation escalated. A truck had crushed part of a car—people were trapped.

The police shook their heads. "We need heavy equipment—no one's lifting that."

Popeye just smirked.

"You ain't met me."

He popped open a can of spinach—

—and instantly powered up.

Muscles surged as he lifted the wreckage with ease, rescuing the trapped victims. The crowd stared in disbelief.

Summer stared too... but for a different reason.

A few days later...

Summer and Popeye had grown closer.

Which didn't sit well with Vinnie.

"What's he got that I don't?" Vinnie demanded.

Summer crossed her arms.
"He's got something you don't understand."

That was all it took.

Enraged, Vinnie climbed into a crane and swung a wrecking ball—

THWACK!

Popeye went down hard.

Summer gasped.

Vinnie dragged the dazed sailor toward a massive construction machine.

"Time to show ya what real power looks like."

Summer looked around desperately—

Then spotted it.

A fallen can of spinach.

She grabbed it, opened it, and swallowed it in one go.

Instantly, everything changed.

Energy surged through her body. Strength—real strength—filled every movement.

Her stance shifted.

Her confidence followed.

Just in time.

The massive machine came down—

—and Summer stepped in, blocking it with sheer force.

Metal bent.

The impact echoed.

Vinnie froze.

"What... are you?"

Summer didn't answer.

She simply stepped forward.

What followed wasn't even a contest.

Every attack Vinnie threw was stopped cold. Every attempt to overpower her failed.

For the first time—

he was outmatched.

Moments later, the fight was over.

Vinnie, battered and stunned, could only stare.

Summer stood tall, calm now, her strength no longer explosive—but controlled.

Behind her, Popeye slowly got to his feet.

He scratched his head, looked at Summer... then laughed.

"Guess I ain't the only one what eats spinach."
