Fitness or physique

I think there should be a clear definition of different categories i.e. fitness, physique and bodybuilding and it should be strictly enforced to allow for fairness to competitors.

It would be absurd for a FBB to take part in a fitness contest and vice versa and it will never happen.  But I think the line is blurred when it comes to fitness and physique categories.

To me, fitness would be for ladies who look fit but are not too muscular.  Physique to me would be ladies who are muscular but not big and muscular enough to be classified as FBBs.

Currently I think there is little or no distinction between the two and competitors suffer as a result of clarity.  I give you two good examples.  Lisa Cheng from Hong Kong and Roongtawan Jindasing of Thailand.

This is Lisa:

This is Roongtawan:

And its not very clear but here's a photo of the two next to each other:

Roongtawan is obviously the more muscular of the two.  IMO ladies with her body type should compete in physique while ladies like Lisa should be in fitness.

When both ladies are allowed to take part in fitness AND physique, it becomes confusing (at least to me) and I wonder if the competitors themselves know what the judges are looking for.  Will the likes of Roongtawan be placed lower 'cos the judges feel they are too muscular for fitness?  Or will the likes of Lisa lose out in physique 'cos they are less muscular?

It really comes down to two categories.

AKA; FBB's and twigs (AKA; physique(big twigs.), fitness(medium twigs.), bikini (little twigs.)).

In My opinion they should dump all the twig-egories and get back to Female Body Builders only.

They should setup real standards.

They should use dynamic weight categories so the women will come in in the best for there body and not try to make classes.

They should select a better posing suit that fits the woman's bodies better.

They should stress symmetry and proportion just as much as size.

They should limit dieting to a safe level that shows cuts but does not turn the woman into a creature from the black lagoon.

They should provide professional makeup and hair at contests.

They should do proper promotion and get real prize money.

They should promote bodybuilding at all levels and offer collage scholarship's for young FBB's.

These are but a few of the changes that need to be made for woman's bodybuilding to be what it should be.

All these twig-egories are not making a better climate for FBB but are just making more of a mess.

true enough there is very vague border, but u hv to take into consideration that in asia this sport is not that receptive yet, thus the low number of participant, therefore it will be kind of odd if some of the division is inadequate of participant, therfore i believe some of the participants overlap their classess

I figured but I just think its unfair to the competitors.  Take Lisa for e.g. is the judges judge her based on physique category, there's no way she can win 'cos she looks so thin compared to the likes of Roongtawan.  Likewise Roongtawan is going to lose points for being to muscular if judges judge her based on fitness category.
