Cosplay & Muscles

Max had never been to a convention this big before. He wasn't exactly a hardcore gamer or a comic book fanatic — not like some of his friends — but Thea had won a bundle of tickets through some online contest, and she had insisted they all come.

"C'mon, it'll be fun," she'd said. "We'll get out of town, hang out at the hotel, maybe check out the after-parties."

So here he was.

At first, it had been fine. The group stuck together, drifting through the cavernous halls, gawking at the endless booths, the towering displays, the flood of costumes. Everywhere he looked, some new spectacle demanded his attention — stormtroopers lined up for photos, a Spider-Man dangling from the rafters, a squad of Deadpools mock-fighting in the aisle. The energy was chaotic, dizzying, almost too much to take in.

But then it happened.

Somewhere between the indie game booths and the main merchandise floor, the crowd thickened. People pressed shoulder to shoulder, cameras flashing, music blaring. One second Max was right behind his friends, and the next — they were gone.

He twisted, trying to spot them in the river of bodies, but it was useless.

His phone buzzed in his pocket.

Thea: "Lost u. Meet at hotel later."
Tom: "Yeah too crazy. Drinks tonight."

Max exhaled slowly, typing back: "Got it. See you later."

And just like that, he was on his own.

He pushed through the throngs at a slower pace now, letting himself wander. With no schedule, no destination, he could just take it all in.

The cosplayers fascinated him. He'd never really understood how much work people put into it. Some costumes looked like they belonged in a Hollywood movie — full armor sets, meticulously painted weapons, makeup so good it made people look like living cartoons. And, of course, the women.

Max couldn't help himself. He noticed them. The skimpy versions of superhero costumes, the skin-tight latex, the anime girls in short skirts and thigh-highs. His eyes lingered more than they should have, though he tried to play it cool.

Still... something felt hollow. Pretty, yes. Sexy, sure. But not it. Not the thing that made his chest tighten and his pulse quicken in the way he knew all too well.

And then he saw her.

It was from behind at first. Just another cosplayer in a Harley Quinn outfit — the pigtails, the glitter, the red-and-blue shorts. But what stopped him cold wasn't the costume. It was what filled it.

Her shoulders were broad, capped with muscle that seemed to flex even as she walked. Her back — wide, powerful, tapering to a narrow waist that looked almost impossibly small beneath it. Each step made her thighs flare and contract, thick and sweeping, every ounce of muscle visible beneath smooth skin. Her calves bunched and stretched like coiled ropes, her boots clicking against the floor.

Max's throat went dry.

The noise of the convention seemed to fade around him, replaced by the pounding of his own heartbeat.

No way. No way. Is this real?

He had spent years obsessing over this — women like her. Online photos, videos, hours of scrolling through bodybuilding forums when nobody was looking. Muscles that big, that defined, on a woman's frame... it was his secret weakness, the thing that made him crazy.

And here she was. In the flesh. Walking not twenty feet away.

His pulse spiked. His body buzzed with the same electric jolt he always felt when he indulged in his fetish alone — except stronger. Overwhelming. It was like someone had reached into his most private fantasies and dropped them in the middle of Comic Con.

Then — she turned.

The crowd shifted, and Max saw her face.

He almost staggered. His brain couldn't process it at first.

It wasn't just any woman. It was Kate.

Kate from school. Kate, who used to sit quietly in the corner of class, scribbling in her notebook, too shy to meet anyone's eye. The nerdy girl who was always sweet but never stood out.

And now... she looked like she belonged on a bodybuilding stage. A Harley Quinn sculpted from steel, every inch of her bursting with strength and confidence.

Her eyes scanned the crowd — then locked onto his.

Recognition lit her face. Surprise, followed by a bright, excited smile.

"Max?" she called, weaving her way toward him through the crush of people.

Max's stomach flipped. His mind raced. He needed to be normal, casual, calm. But every nerve in his body screamed.

She reached him, and before he could react, she wrapped him in a hug.

Max nearly lost it. Her body was solid — arms like iron bands, chest firm against him, her grip strong enough that he almost gasped. It wasn't soft. It wasn't gentle. It was like being enveloped by raw power.

When she pulled back, her grin widened. "Oh my god, it's been forever! I can't believe it's you!"

Max forced himself to swallow, his mouth dry. "Yeah, Kate... wow. You look... different."

Her lips curled into a mischievous smirk. "Different good?"

He managed a nod, though inside he was on fire. "Definitely good."

She laughed lightly, tossing a pigtail back. "Come on. Walk with me. We've got catching up to do."

And just like that, she turned, leading him deeper into the convention.

Max followed, every nerve burning. He tried to focus on her words — her questions, her laughter, her easy chatter — but his eyes betrayed him. They stole glances whenever she wasn't looking, drinking in the sight of her twitching triceps, the roll of her thighs, the bulging calves beneath her boots.

Each glance was another hit of pure obsession. The fetish he'd lived with in secret, hidden behind screens and daydreams, was suddenly here in front of him, smiling, talking, alive.

And Max knew, with a dizzy rush of certainty — nothing about this weekend would ever be the same again.

They found a quiet corner of the convention hall, where the endless booths gave way to a lounge area lined with high tables. The thrum of the crowd was still there, but it was easier to breathe, easier to talk.

Kate slid up to one of the bar-height tables and leaned her elbows casually on the surface, smiling at him. Max followed, grateful to have somewhere to steady himself. His heart was still racing from the shock of seeing her like this.

"So," she began, her grin widening. "What have you been up to since school?"

Her voice was warm, open, playful. Max tried to focus on her words, but his eyes betrayed him almost instantly. The way she leaned forward on the table made her shoulders swell under her Harley Quinn top. Her triceps twitched as she shifted her weight, thick cords pressing against her skin. Even the simple act of resting her chin on her hand turned her biceps into a visible ball.

Max forced a smile, willing himself to sound casual. "Oh, you know... work, nothing too crazy. Life's been... normal, I guess."

Kate tilted her head. "Normal, huh? Boring normal or peaceful normal?"

He chuckled nervously. "Maybe a bit of both."

"And what about you?" he asked, desperate to turn the spotlight back to her. "I mean... you look... wow."

Her grin grew sly. She straightened, one hand brushing a pigtail back over her shoulder. "Yeah... I guess I do look a little different, don't I?"

Max nodded quickly. "That's one way to put it."

"Well..." She rested her arms on the table again, folding them so her forearms pressed together. The movement made her biceps bulge, swelling as if they were trying to escape the confines of her top. "After school I just sort of... stumbled into the gym. At first it was just for fitness, you know? A little cardio, some light weights. But I liked it. And then I really liked it."

Max swallowed hard, trying to hide that his eyes had locked on the rounded peaks forming beneath her skin.

Kate continued, almost absentmindedly flexing her hand into a fist as she spoke. The action made her forearm pop, thick veins tracing over solid muscle. She didn't even seem to notice the effect it had.

"At first I thought it was just going to be a hobby. But I got stronger. And people noticed. Trainers at the gym started saying I had good genetics, good structure for it. So I pushed harder. More weights. More food. More everything."

As she spoke, she mimed the pushing motion, her triceps flexing into thick, horseshoe shapes. Max's chest tightened, his palms sweating as he watched her muscle twitch and swell with every gesture.

"And then," she went on, "it became... well, a passion. Bodybuilding, competing. The discipline, the challenge..." She smiled, shaking her head. "I kind of fell in love with it."

Max tried to nod along, but he was hypnotized. Every movement of hers seemed to bring a new muscle to life — shoulders knotting, chest tightening, abs shifting beneath her tight top whenever she laughed.

And the worst part? She had to know.

Because every time he risked a glance, he caught a flicker in her eyes. A hint of amusement at his nervousness. A smile that lingered a second too long.

Kate leaned in on her elbow again, tilting her head. "You're really quiet. Still the shy one?"

Max forced a laugh. "Maybe a little."

She grinned, flexing her hand again so that her bicep swelled right there on the table. "Or maybe you're just overwhelmed. Not everyone expects their old classmate to show up looking like, well..." She shrugged, her traps flaring just from the motion. "...this."

Max's face burned. He tried to play it cool, but the heat in his cheeks betrayed him. "Yeah, I wasn't... expecting that."

Her smile widened. Not cruel, not mocking — but teasing. Innocent on the surface, with something sharper underneath. "Guess I'm full of surprises."

Max gripped his glass of water tighter, desperate for something to do with his hands. He could feel his pulse pounding in his neck.

What he didn't know — couldn't know — was that Kate felt it too.

Because as much as she pretended it was casual, as much as she spoke about her bodybuilding like it was just another hobby, inside she was buzzing. She loved this. She always had. The stares, the nervousness, the whispers. The way men — and women — couldn't stop looking at her muscles, couldn't stop stealing glances. It lit something in her chest, something she would never admit out loud.

Especially not to Max.

Not yet.

So instead, she let her body do the talking. A playful flex here. A casual shrug that made her traps ripple. A laugh that tightened her abs just enough for him to notice. Always innocent, always with an easy smile.

She could see it in his eyes — the way he drank her in, trying not to. She could almost feel his thoughts as he fought to keep them hidden.

And that, more than anything, made her smile.

The conversation flowed in fits and starts. Kate asked about his work, his friends, his family, and Max tried to answer without sounding like his brain was melting. Every time she gestured, some new muscle twitched or flexed, and every time she laughed, her abs shifted beneath the fabric of her top.

He was sure he looked calm on the outside, nodding, sipping his water, smiling when appropriate. But inside, he was spiraling.

Then it happened.

A shadow fell across their table. Max looked up to see a man standing there, maybe late twenties, clutching his phone so tightly his knuckles were white. His eyes were wide, darting between Kate's face and the bulging swell of her shoulders, and his voice trembled when he finally spoke.

"Uh, excuse me, I'm... I'm sorry, but... could I maybe... get a selfie with you?"

Kate blinked in surprise, then her lips curved into that bright, confident smile. "Of course!"

She pushed off the table and straightened, and Max's stomach dropped as he realized what she was about to do.

Sure enough, she casually lifted her right arm and curled it, fist tight, bicep swelling into a round, solid peak beneath her skin. The muscle rose and hardened as if she were conjuring it out of thin air, thick veins running across the surface. She tilted her head playfully, lips pursed in a mock pout, and leaned in toward the man's phone as he held it up.

Click.

The man's face was beet red, his eyes flicking to her flexed bicep as if he couldn't help himself. He muttered something — thanks, maybe — then turned as if to leave. But halfway through his retreat, he spun back, blurting out in a nervous rush:

"Nice cam show last night. Really enjoyed that one."

And then he was gone. Practically bolting into the crowd, his ears glowing red.

Max's entire body went hot. His pulse thundered in his ears. Cam show?

He darted a glance at Kate, expecting embarrassment, denial, something. But she just smoothed her pigtail over her shoulder and sat back down, as casual as if nothing had happened.

Her smile returned, easy and innocent. She leaned back on her elbow again, muscles twitching from the movement. "Sorry about that. Where were we?"

Max managed a laugh that felt painfully tight in his throat. "Uh... just... catching up."

On the outside, he hoped he looked calm. On the inside, he was unraveling.

A cam show? Was she really—? His brain spun. It made too much sense. A woman like her, with a body like that, of course she would be a goddess for guys like him online. Of course there would be an audience willing to worship her, pay her, adore her. He knew those sites. He'd seen those shows. The idea that Kate might be one of them made him dizzy.

She was his fantasy made flesh, standing here in front of him. And she knew. She had to know.

Kate stirred her straw around in her drink, pretending not to notice the way Max's eyes kept betraying him. "So tell me," she said with a little grin, "do you ever hit the gym? Or are you still the bookworm type?"

Max chuckled nervously, tugging at his sleeve. "I, uh... try to keep in shape. But nothing like you."

Her eyes glimmered with playful mischief. She lifted her shoulders in an exaggerated shrug, her traps swelling and her biceps thickening with the movement. "Guess I got a little carried away, huh?"

The innocence in her tone was betrayed by the way she held the pose just a second too long, letting the muscles ripple under her skin. Max swallowed hard, gripping his glass tighter to keep his hands steady.

And then — a shout.

"Max! There you are!"

He spun around. His friends were coming down the aisle toward the lounge area, waving.

Kate's smile softened. She picked up a cocktail napkin from the table and pulled a pen from her bag. With neat, looping handwriting, she scribbled down a number. Then she added a smiley face, the kind with a wink.

She slid it across the table toward him, her eyes locking onto his as she did. "You should go be with your friends. But..." She tapped the napkin with her fingertip, her nails painted bright red. "Text me. Whenever you want."

Max's chest tightened. He picked up the napkin, the paper warm from her touch, and folded it into his palm like it was the most precious thing he'd ever been handed.

"Yeah," he managed, his voice rough. "I... I will."

She smiled, pigtails swaying as she leaned back on her elbow again, every inch of her looking like a woman carved from steel and mischief. "Good."

And with that, she turned away, as casual and confident as if she hadn't just detonated his entire world.

Max forced himself to move toward his friends, stuffing the napkin deep into his pocket, his heart still hammering.

On the outside, he looked calm. On the inside, he was already replaying the sight of her flexed bicep under the camera flash, the stranger's words echoing in his head.

Cam show. Really enjoyed that one.

Max swallowed hard.

This weekend had just become something far more exciting than he had ever imagined...
