After I saw Natalya Trukhina participating in push&pull competition, this question arised to my head. I don't remember seeing any else bodybuilder doing 330 bench and 462 deadlift in a legit form.
-
Paula Suzuki has benched 403 lbs in a competition and Tazzie Colomb 402 lbs in a competition.

Yes they did but those were equipped shirt lifts so you can't really compare these to raw lifts. Awesome numbers nevertheless.

Ali Huston

I saw a gif with Shannon, she was working her chest with 120lb dumbbells. :wow: :wow: :wow: :what:
-
Pound for pound was Michele Ralabate who won twice the Women strength extravaganza with amazing performances.
-
Becca Swanson
-
Michele Ralabate definitely...short but VERY strong.
-
I would say Andrulla Blanchette was one of the truly strong fbb's . I remember watching a video with her , and she was doing barbell curls up to 175-180 lbs . That's crazy Strong !
-
I think Melody Melo deserves a mention even though she hasn't completely transitioned to bodybuilding. She deadlifted 501 lbs.
-
just wondering are we putting this into context been the strongest FBB is size or just all over strongest FBB re lifts? because there are some really strong small FBB's pound for pound who are strong

she is also a black belt in judo, who is very good at it. that makes her double trouble. not someone you want to mess with.

Currently Kristie Hawkins is not competing in BB, but she just came within 7 lb. of a world record total in her weight class powerlifting without power shirts, wraps etc...l - about 1275 lb. at body weight of 165- and she is maybe 5'3".

Wow, didn't know she was that powerful
She is not, it´s the steroids etc that make her that way, more than training and diet or anything else.
-
bullshit.
that's beyond ridiculous. you still gotta do the work. you actually think you can just use steroids and be a world class powerlifter ?

Lose the roids, do the lifting, and show us what YOU got!

Men don't count.
I think he/she will fit right in with the of the "guys"
I vote it counts!
-
Pound for pound, Elena Seiple is very strong. She can bench press more that 300 lbs and squats 500 lb. She weighs about 150 lbs.
-
Men don't count.
Good thing she's not a man, then.
-
K+ Unicron for your mention of Susan, she may not be in the spotlight like many other competitors but she's quite a real achiever.
The portemanteau term 'power-builder' was coined in the 80s, IIRC, to highlight athletes who partook both in powerlifting and bodybuilding at a time when those both activities were deemed 'not compatible' (That the powerlifing regimen couldn't meet the aesthetic requirements of bodybuilding); I think we should apply a new one for Susan who manages to shine in both Powerlifting and... Women's physique (BB-lite).

Becca Swanson

I got a message from Tazzie. She just won in the women's 181lb class for powerlifting for women between 50-59.
-
Had no idea Tazzie is in that age group.

Got to be Tazzie. She was a beast. I'm guessing that even though she's not nearly as big, she was stronger than Renne.
-
You don't know who Tazzie is??? Tazzie Colomb. Crazy strong. She was a powerlifter too.
-
It is difficult to say,. If you count Becca Swanson as a bodybuilder , then it must be her. Tazzie Colomb still does powerlifting, way after her bb career. As for Nataliya, her last powerlifting competition was back in 2014, way before becoming an international fbb
-
Since you're talking about bodybuilders, I guess it's worth considering how you're measuring strength too. I recently saw a video of Michele Steeves doing 100 reps of ez bar curls. I don't even know what the weight was, but come on, 100 reps of any weight counts as incredibly strong in my book.

no ive never even heard of her...part of the reason i have started this topic is to learn about fbb i dont know about...so thank you for sharing this information...shes a big girl!!! and from what ive seen so far she was very strong..thanks again for your reply :)
-
Nataliya is just something else???? What do you mean by that? Strengthwise she quit powerlifting at 23, matching at least Tazzies records. Had she continued, who knows what she could have achieved.....

for me strength is pound for pound..not always who lifts the heaviest but who pound for pound lifts the most impressive weight ...like say 4 times bodyweight deadlifts...4 times weight squat and like 2.5 * bodyweight for bench...i think high rep stuff is a combination of strength and stamina...more a test of endurance strength..thats just my personal opinion..but Michelle Steeves is great from what i have seen of her
Sorry, not sure if I'm doing the quotes right. I guess my question for you then, is why are we talking strongest female bodybuilder and not just strongest female? Bodybuilders have to pursue some combination of strength and stamina in order to sculpt their bodies, no?
-
Check out Mary Ellen Jerumbo. Back in her prime, she was incredibly strong- pound for pound she was stronger than most male bodybuilders.
-
and if brute power is of interest, Christy Hawkins was a world-class bodybuilder and she is now a world champion at 165 lb. as a powerlifter.
Her-I-gram account is Christy_Hawkins@I......
-
Now that we're into powerlifting, Shannon Nash is beyond compare.....https://saradas.org/index.php?topic=321758.msg2240847#new. I've never seen anyone quite like her.
-
my vote is for kristy hawkins. mind blowing strength. and the minute she steps onstage in this show she's getting ready to make her fbb debut in .... CC ingram.
-
Shannon Nash is not a bb, but a powerlifter. There are many powerlifters or strongwomen that are so much stronger than bb. This thread is about strongest female bb. Currently Nataliya Kuznetsova holds this title, no doubt on that. Historically it must be Becca Swanson
-
@rambofan. Thanks for this. If you look at the currently competing fbb, it is Nataliya Kuznetsova by far. No other fbb comes even close to her. As per history, Becca Swanson also competed in a few bb competitions, but she obviously became famous in powelifting. Interestingly, Nataliya weighs on stage as a bodybuilder more than she weighed as a powerlifter (82.5 kg in pl, 87 in bb on stage, upto 102kg offseason). As for Becca, she weighed as powerlifter 30 kg more than as bodybuilder !!!!
-
1.kay baxter
2.renee oneill
3.trevelyan petrilli
-
@rambofan. Here I don't agree. Becca as a powerlifter was much much heavier than as a bodybuilder. The same goes for the Kristy Hawkins. Don't forget that bb shred down and loose weight and bodyfat for competitions, so as powerlifters they should weigh much more due to their bodyfat which is much higher. Here Nataliya is again the exception, weighing onstage with as little as possible bodyfat more than as powerlifter. This adds also to her unique appeal, as you rightly say, she is really something else. In some way you maybe could compare her strength/bodybuilder ratio to Bev Francis, but maybe only in this because with regards to sex appeal , muscle size, and beauty Nataliya outclasses Bev by light years
-
Yes, you have a few smaller girls that are very strong powerlifters who do also bb, like Mina Pujialahti, Anastasia Korbaleva. But even this girls usually weigh more in Powerlifting than in BB onstage, and in this sense Nataliya K. is really unique
