Title: Mel Fire
Post by: crazycrazy on February 27, 2024, 03:52:52 am
I met Mel Fire today for a non-competitive match. (I never really know what are the definitions of semi-competitive or one-sided matches. I tried to defend, but didn't cross the line to any aggressive action.) It was a lot of fun. She is a very attractive woman, skilled at jujitsu but not invincible. She is tall and fit, but not a heavyweight, and not impossible to move when she is on top. She's very strong, especially her adductor muscles, but not so overwhelmingly powerful that I gave up trying to resist. She's dangerous when she's on your back, but she should be approached with caution when she's on her back. I think I'm average strength, 170 pounds, untrained in grappling, and she had me tapping to bodyscissors, headscissors, Kimura and armbars.

She is currently more than strong and skillful enough to beat guys like me. I think she is continuing with her training, and she will likely improve to where she can give bigger guys a lot of real trouble.

The one drawback is that she is sometimes slow to respond to emails. She has numerous projects outside of in-person sessions, and juggling all of them might leave her with less time to respond to questions of whether everything was on schedule with transcontinental travel plans. If you are okay with just-in-time responses then this won't be an issue.
