I’m not saying it’s impossible and that it’ll never happen, but SG now charging a monthly listing fee (plus verification pic) has dramatically lowered the number of obvious fake ads/scammers that they used to have.

Those used to occur on the regular. There were a few scammers who’d even switch up a few pictures but copy and paste descriptions from previous scams.

Even with a known and reliable SG, I don't deposit until a date time is agreed upon.   
 
Others ask for 50%, so that's not unreasonable if it's a known SG. 
I can't see a 50% deposit + the rest before the session, with a new SG with no reviews.
