I’ve been asked a lot if I miss competing so I thought I’d write a post about how I feel today after stepping away from the stage. Short recap: I made the decision to focus on new business ventures and other important things in my life after I last competed at the Arnold Sport South America in April 2017. Let me start by saying that I do not know if I ever will or not get back on stage again. I think that the fire of an athlete in me will never die. I will always enjoy exercising, challenging myself, and living a healthy lifestyle - not just for physical goals but because that how I grew up and I don’t think I could to live any other way. In all honestly, I do not miss the muscularity that I once had when competing. This will also surprise many, but I do not miss being extremely lean either. I am a whole lot happier and more confident in my own skin today. One thing I do miss is the stage and sharing those moments with my girls. It is so special, it’s indescribable. Thankfully, I have been lucky enough to still attend many competitions and fitness events around the world and be part of them in other ways. The way I see it is... when you truly love something, you’ll always find joy in doing it. Not just with a purpose or for a reason. Like the saying says “Fitness is not a destination, it’s a way of life!”

When I meet people today who have followed my fitness journey, they often ask me how how feel today and if I miss competing. I’ve realized that for many who compete, it’s almost fascinating for them to look at fitness as just a way to be, without the goal of getting on stage in mind. I understand. Competing requires all of you, no days off, constant structure... and you get custom to following a strict plan and schedule all the time. Some people allow themselves to relax a bit more on their off-season, but the goal always remains the same - The stage. Letting go of such structure can be scary to some athletes. I won’t lie, it took me some adjustments after I stopped competing last year. Today, I set myself small goals, even very small goals. I don’t need the stage to stay in shape, or eat properly. I care about my health and I care about the way I feel swann.beauty takes up many of my days through out the week and I don’t always make it to the gym for as long as I want and I don’t always get to eat as much as I should but I always do my best everyday. I don’t make excuses for myself because I am not getting on stage. Like I posted yesterday “there is no off switch for determination”. This is my answer to anyone who ask me; I am as happy as I can be!!! I will probably not get back on stage but hey “never say never”. I enjoyed my journey as an amateur and pro figure competitor so much and wish anyone to experience all that I lived. Today, I am all about making each day as best as they can be, being kind to myself, living the fullest, spreading good vibes, and giving back.

No longer competing, Swann is still one of the all time great ladies, and great beauties in the business.

The latest from Swann. I am seeing blurbs on the web that she may now be divorced,
but I cannot confirm it. Wishing her well regardless.
