It may not be the most popular thing to say on a forum such as this but, female physique and bodybuilding contestants must face the truth about the feelings of most people related to the sport. That is, the vast majority see no appeal in it. In the end, like any other high level competitive sport, it is a for profit business and there is no profit to be made in these categories. This, coupled with the unfortunate number of tragedies in the last number of years is hurting the overall sport.
Going further, there is going to be massive amounts of pressure coming from many different sources related to eliminating the mass monsters within the men's division. The sport has a worldwide reputation of being extremely unhealthy and life threatening to be a competitor at the highest levels. Things must change if this sport is to regain any popularity or grow its fan base. No business should be run only catering to what the hardcore individuals want. The idea is to create an entertaining product while making every effort to maximize profit. This will never be accomplished under the current structure.
