I feel like most session wrestlers today are also affiliated with the adult industry, which makes most of them not as skilled as purely session wrestlers with martial arts background.

I feel like most session wrestlers today are also affiliated with the adult industry, which makes most of them not as skilled as purely session wrestlers with martial arts background.

Being involved in the adult industry doesn't exclude you from being a skilled martial artist, and there are a good chunk of skilled grapplers and martial artists who have also shot fetish videos and pics (which, whether it is "hardcore porn" or not, is still part of a adult industry.

Also, not every session wrestler needs to be skilled in martial artists because not every client is looking for that in a wrestler. Some clients like big muscles and are happy to do muscle worship and strength feats for an hour. Others prefer fantasy and fetish wrestling which doesn't really require a proficient level of martial arts skills. And others want a skilled grappler for a competitive or semi-comp session.

I think the quality of session wrestlers have remained relatively the same now as it was in the past. There are MORE wrestlers out there, and it's more accessible to be a wrestler so I think that can lead to, for lack of a better phrase, a diluted talent pool, but I think the amount of QUALITY wrestlers is pretty similar to the past.

To begin, the ladies on the circuit right now are FABULOUS! But to me the golden era for sessioning was around 2010. I think Femdom as taken a large chunk of potential sessioniates away and ones that be amazing.

As someone who's a member of forums concerning sessions with female bodybuilders/fitness women and domination / dominatrix forums, there is one consistent refrain in both: a lot of bodybuilder fans guys don't particularly care for bodybuiilder/dominas, while traditional submissives yearn for the days of Mistresses are not bodybuilders and do not offer wrestling. (And P.S. - Many traditional dominas are "appalled" to be lumped in with bodybuilders. Talk of wrestling, muscle worship etc. and rumors of sensual play does not sound "dominant" to them, with some of the activities seeming to break the law, in THEIR opinions.)

For me, I got into sessions with female bodybuilders/fitness competitors in the early 2000s due to my Amazon Queen role play I had for years with dominas. The overwhelming majority of the women I've been lucky to meet love being dominant in role play. I've told more than a few ladies about their dominantion, "You don't need equipment. YOU are the equipment." My major activity with FBBs was from 2002 or so until around 2018, and I agree with MixedFighter99 that around 2010 was the golden era for me. I sessioned with most of the women I always wanted to meet and around that year two ladies who I was a regular with, Goddess Vegas (a.k.a. Lethal Leg Goddess) and Diana Ball retired. Muscle Foxx Jenni and others I knew stopped traveling or left the scene. However Lora Ottenad is still around and as powerful and gorgeous as ever and I've done fantasy / role play with Amazon Nikki, who's amazing. The scene is different now, and I think sessionettes that are a combo of FBBs and Mistresses have helped and broadened the appeal.

There's give and take in everything. Various years would be 'the best' if you were into a very specific type of lady, that much is true, but it's also never been impossible to meet a certain type and that's still true today. Social media has meant some ladies never got into sessions who would've been great, but it's also meant being able to communicate with some cool ladies who I've met for sessions but for various reasons wouldn't want to put themselves on the lists.

I completely agree. I think "the best" for me was when I entered the scene in '02, was 22 years younger (LOL!) and in good shape, and this whole bodybuilder scene was new to me. I sessioned with gorgeous FBBs who were around my age, no younger than 30, who I only saw in pics online and fantasized about meeting. They were into the same things, and more.

I've reached a ripe old age, still in good health (but not exactly the shape I was in), don't have the budget for sessions anymore... except for a dominatrix I've known for a long time, UTR, who knows my muscle history & fantasy quite well, and has powerful legs. Miss the ladies I mentioned and FBBs I didn't meet, but I can't complain.

I think if you are into wrestling and/or dom sessions, there are more choices than ever, mainly by looking at the SG website.

There may be fewer FBBs now doing sessions, at least those who still compete. Besides there are also fewer FBBs competing.
A lot of the muscle in SG now are Physique, Figure and retired FBB.   The FBBs have online sites to display muscles, so it seems they
don't need in person meetings as much as the wrestlers + doms.

About competitive wrestling, I can't judge : I don't wrestle. About sessions in general, clearly not. The number and variety of session providers has never been so vast. Of course, some "legends" have retired and we miss them, but new generations are really good too...

I just hit my 10 year anniversary.  I'm into Dom type sessions and things have never been better.  More, and better, ladies doing it.

Excepting that Annie Rivieccio left the scene a few years ago.  [Sad face]

I lived in Florida recently and in my area there were no FBBs or domina/FBBs within reasonable driving distance. I contacted Annie and asked what the price would be if I flew her from Georgia to FL, got a hotel near the airport to session for an hour or so, and drove her back to the airport for her flight. (I was in northern FL and the flight would have been an hour or so, each way.) I couldn't really travel. She was polite, thanked me for the interest, but by then was only doing local sessions. Damned shame I missed her.

I was / is into tall, busty (mostly blonde) dominas or FBBs. But something about Annie has always brought out the "Beast" in me. LOL!

Strictly speaking Annie isn't my type either, so my testifying to her general awesomeness should be viewed accordingly.
I can see how fbb lovers might feel discouraged at the moment, after all the late 90s brought I'd say the first crop of truly great ones, and those who did offer sessions are finally going away and largely not being replaced. As of now there are a couple of pro fbbs but the current bb presence is mostly comprised of physique class ladies, and as nice as most of those are it just ain't the same.

Annie brings out the beast in anyone though with me she was a brute in the best way possible.

I will say that I'm biased when it comes to the scene how it was 10-15 years ago:

1. I was younger back then and while I'm in excellent shape for 46, I'm the first one to admit that I stronger and had better stamina aka took a lot more back then.
2. I was completely single back then compare to now where I do a much younger lady friend who I do see (non committed relationship) so while I session quite often, I session more back then.
3. The ladies from that era are my favorite. FlexZee is my personal GOAT while you had Arkeah Lox at her peak, along with other greats from Megan Avalon, Julie Squeeze, Scarlett Devine, Yasmin, Austin Lynn, Becca Swanson,  Hot Stuff Hollie (again in her peak) and even someone like Raquel from Georgia.
4. I feel like that is when we had the deepest bench of truly great "sessioniates". There seems to be more girls now but many are domantrixes who also offer sessions which look I adore dominatrixes but I really enjoy when you had girls that were truly sessuoniates with hard muscles that could throw you around on the mat with skill, beat your ass, and then could worship their muscles and if you want dominate you as they were skilled and strong. Dominatrixes I feel like while experts at domination are maybe not as skilled at wrestling and beatdowns along with while they are great shape, are not hard bodies.

So while to me the Golden Age was 10-15 years ago, I freely admit I'm biased for various reasons.

One of my biggest disappointments in life is that fitcross ladies never really got into the session scene. When they first started popping up a lot several years ago, I was like, "Holy fuck these girls are going to become sessions and make a gold mine while he glow in their greatness". And yet without almost no exception? None of them are sessionsiates and it's just a crying shame even though obviously you must respect their decision. They honestly be perfect at it potentially. They are ripped and strong as hell with absolutely insane muscles but not FBB big. They are obviously athletes and could be fabulous wrestlers and give insane beatdowns, plus again, have the muscle and dominance you want as well.

And many are absolute gorgeous.  Imagine someone like Sara Sigmundsdóttir or Brooke Wells as a sessioniate. They be making so amazing potentially its scary. Ditto what they could make which again is one of the reasons why almost none of them got into it. Let's face it Fit Cross is not a sport where you can make a lot of money even if you are someone like Brooke Ence. And obviously the demand for them would be off the charts. So again have really no idea none of them venture into our world other then many seem to be religious in various forms so to them sessioning would be not something they be comfortable with which again you have to respect. But something that will always disappoint me to my core. :(

I'm a CrossFitter myself. There are TONS of CrossFit ladies out there, but if you're referring to Games-Caliber athletes, they represent a tiny, tiny, TINY amount of all the women who do CrossFit (ok, I'm being a litle pedantic right not, it's just a small pet peeve of mine when people only consider Games athletes as "Crossfit women," and not all of the women who CrossFit.)

Anyway, I think it's because while the NPC and IFBB turn a pretty blind eyes towards bodybuilders who do session wrestling, CrossFit HQ, Rogue and TYR, along with other major sponsors for elite CrossFit competitions, really don't want their ladies doing session wrestling. They definitely embrace the squeaky clean image of their athletes. Plus, like you said, in addition to that I am sure that a lot of them who do know that there are men who fetishize them really don't want to wrestle with strangers for money because, again, image.
