Recording a Webcam or Skype Session

Has anyone actually done it and are these hard to do? In particular the Skype?

Hi just use hypercam2 it records  anything on screen. use a codec like motion mjpeg and then use software like freemake video converter to make your video smaller so you can post it to saradas:) oh by the way disable blinking option when recording or the video be recorded choppy and miss lots of frames.

Also if you need to do some editing to the video like cropping and general cutting out certain parts use virtualdub software before you convert to say for example .mkv or .xvid.

shinywhitebox ( saradas.org/1RqBTrB ) makes a program called "iShowU" that I use on a Mac. Camtasia is also an option but I like iShowU better. As long as the video size is relatively medium, you won't end up with a half gig file.

It's probably best to paid for recording software. Free programs are often very limited and have poor results. If you are already paying for a cam session, it makes sense to spend a few more dollars to get a quality recording.
