Here's the story from a poorly translated Italian web site:

Claudia Bianchi

Claudia Bianchi had embarked on a long professional career in the world of extreme body building, winning important races at international level, but at the price of a profound change in its physical structure and appearance.  On 8 March 2004 has died suddenly in his sleep at 36 years, over a period of preparation for a tough race in the United States scheduled for August, which had participated the year before classified sixth. The initial diagnosis was cerebral aneurysm, but the following December 22 his body was exhumed as part of investigations into suspicious deaths of young people practicing body building.  The autopsy stated the cause of the death of Claudia Bianchi in recruiting anabolic the evening of March 7.  The mother confirmed having seen her inject a white substance in a vial which was received on the afternoon of that Sunday.  Thanks to a mobile phone text messages found in the daughter, the lady has also discovered that around 17 of that day she was unconscious in the gym, found the boyfriend and her coach who had come from Modena to find as every Sunday.  The mother of Claudia Bianchi blames him for having underestimated the illness in the gym, by failing to bring it immediately to the hospital where it could be saved. The lady hopes that the tragic story of her daughter is at least useful to open their eyes to who is running the same risks.

so, it seems that the steriods she inject the day before might have lead to her cerebral aneurysm
no disrespect but didn't fannie barrios pass away from a brain aneurysm or something similar
it strongly seems that steroids are the cause...does anyone here know or confirm this?
and if steroids are the cause i wonder what is the general mechanism involved...
does steroids inflame the blood vessel wall causing it to become weak and rupture?

Maybe it was a injection that was not done correctly. I'm no doctor and I won't pretend to know about steroids, much less taking them, but isn't air in the syringe bad? And if there was air injected into the vein/body, that could cause an aneurysm. I think.
