Asian-Pacific Heritage Month
« on: May 03, 2015, 11:12:59 pm »
Asian-Pacific Heritage Month celebrates Asian history and their contributions to the US and throughout the diaspora. Here I would just like to celebrate with some Asian athletes I like. Can you name them all? Karma to who gets the right answers.

#2 is Dawn Riehl, #4 is Brenda Raganot.  I don't know the other 2.

My wife is Asian, her pictures of her progress are here:

What a shame she's done competing after 2003.  She had potential to be solid pro.  Damn NPC and its politics.

Lori Okami is my final answer.  I think she competed in the 1980's.

Wish more videos and pictures existed of Lori Okami back when she competed, which would have occurred when I was very young in the mid 80s. Great gifs street fighter!  :bravo:  And also what 1986 contest was that video from?

As you can see an amazing line-up. The contest was on ESPN. Routines of the top competitors from each class plus lightweight, middleweight, heavyweight, and overall posedowns. I was eleven when I recorded it. One of my favorites but it was recorded over when I left the tape in the VCR. A few years back a woman was posting posing videos on youtube and 320x240 clips from this contest. Her channel was taken down before I got them all. There was also a company advertising a DVD of the show but my understanding is that it is not available anymore.

If you are ever curious about contest history check out musclememory.com its like the IMDB of bodybuilding. The info above is from that site.
