Art exhibition showcasing old school female bodybuilding

Just stumbled into this promotion for a gallery show held at the Circuitous Succession Gallery down in Memphis, Tennessee, starting today and ending mid-March. If you live in the vicinity of Memphis, don't hesitate to take a glance - or more - there. Given that the subject of this exhibition are female bodybuilders from the early 80s, I think it is appropriate to post the topic here.

The photos were taken by Lawrence Jasud. The models are Janie Morel, Pam Routh, Cindy Forman and Jackie Alexander. Not much to be found on the Net for those 4 women, except for Ms Routh who appears to be accomplished middle-aged triathlete residing in South Carolina.

Looking at the physique of Alexander, you really get a picture of how fast the bodies changed. Within roughly 15 years we routinely had gigantic, highly defined athletes like Chizevsky, Karla Nelsen, Tina Lockwood, & Laura Binetti. Good stuff..

Actually yes, but keep in mind the FBBs at the center of the exposition supposedly competed only at the local/state level; at the same time, the likes of heavyweight Clare Furr, Bev Francis, Ellen Van Maris, Cathey Palyo, etc. were vying for 1st place in the pro stage.

I appreciate you sharing this pumpfiction but this type of stuff makes me hate photographers. Did anyone notice how much they want for a print? $800-$900 The shots aren't that creatively composed. It is just studio paper backdrop and the girls are doing the work. Sorry but I think this guy is a tw@t.
