With respect to Michaela I think Shannon had it all. Phenomenal lower body, GOAT potential and an eye popping upper body, paefouaorly her chest and right bicep. I think she had the potential to revive bodybuilding 4 years earlier.  She is a genetic jackpot. That said she is missing that mental component that Michaela has in respect to bodybuilding. Near the end she wasn’t doing it for herself and Michaela is definitely self motivated in the bodybuilding front. Shannon is happy with CrossFit at the moment but dabbled in some other things before getting there.

Michaela’s upper body is all time though she may have some genetic lag for legs, particularly calves and glutes. However her conditioning is always second to none.

I think her bad finish in the last wpd show and the notes pushed her over that end from “no” to “let’s try it and see how it goes”

I don’t think that based on her notes she would slow down her training or change her training style and it only makes sense that she would move up to bodybuilding and be rewarded for her work rather than marked down. Especially if the notes are always “more this and kore that” and you go up the ladder, 6, 7, 8, 9 but you hit 11 for the judges when 10 was just right for them and you have already passed that point.

That mental component you reference is FAR more rare than the muscle-building or structural genetics. That is one of the major factors that separates the short-term superstars from the all-time greats.

As for the other part, trying to guess the motivations of a female bodybuilder is quite the fool's errand, even if you might be right. lol

True! I don’t know the real reasons and she isn’t transparent about the whole story but from the outside it ducks to be rewarded for your work until you’re not , and without warning. As soon as her back started getting massive I knew she would outgrow the division
