Can you imagine what awful pickings a muscle lover had in 1904? No internet, no magazines, no competitions; Charmon there may have been the only thing they saw in a lifetime. Always be grateful for the time you live in!

Those chicks, while they are nicely muscled, would never win on a modern bodybuilding stage.

most likely there would really be no "muscle lovers" at the time...with all the riding of funny bicycles and running down dirt pathways with a stick pushing along a steel wagon rim...ya don't miss what ya don't know.   ;D

According to Venus with Biceps, most men interested in this would have go to the circus to see strong muscular women. You could get signed autographs of your favorite performers mailed to you, though most of the time they wouldn't flex because it wasn't ladylike. These few pictures were the exception.

Good posts yahring and bp. Karma for both of you. I will try to add something a little later. This could be an interesting thread to develop.   :o  ;)

Here's a website with a few pictures and a little history on the subject.

Very true xl402. But FBB started in late 1970's / very early 1980's. In the UK we waited nearly 9 months to get US muscle mags to find out who won the Ms O! it's only the last 10 years or so since there was real internet coverage, and very recent since you could get pics a few minutes after an athlete has hit a pose! We do live in amazing times.

According to Venus with Biceps

do you have this  book ?

Yeah, I posted about it here: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login It's worth buying, in my estimation. It offers an insightful look into the world of muscular women during an era when they were much rarer than they are today.
