Alison, which parts would those be?(that are best left undercover) (he he)

Maybe after you've been back in the gym(or home gym) for a while you can show us some more of your beautiful mature muscular physique(but maybe not nudes, unless you'd like to of course).

Can the sport survive if PEDS become more controlled...and scarce?

There was a recent discussion on the Gina thread with regard to performance enhancement drugs and it's "normalcy to the sport of bodybuilding" in this era.  One person said..."it's a given"...and essentially a necessity and should be accepted.   Another  stated that the control by law enforcement of PEDs has increased and the public is beginning to take a dim view of  drug assisted athletes.  So where does this leave the sport of bodybuilding if PED use becomes limited?   Can it return to it's grass roots?   Will it just fade away?  ...or will the  hard core always find their way to the center stage via chemicals...somehow?

Well Alison you know my position on this but it will be interesting to read some of the perspectives of others out there. I just don't see how one puts the genie back into the bottle after it's been out this long.

Another  stated that the control by law enforcement of PEDs has increased and the public is beginning to take a dim view of  drug assisted athletes.

I think that if this is true, it's mostly for the big, successful sports where the big stars are suposed to be role models and advertise lots of products. It would make good business sense that they would like to convince the public that they are clean. But given that bodybuilding is now considered a fringe sport, I can't see them making a costly, organized effort to control PED use there. I don't really follow the current state of bodybuilding, so if anyone can make a more educated guess, I'd like to see it.

Warlocks point is true. I think the average person just assumes steroids are part of bodybuilding. I would guess that is one reason sponsorship has dried up and the 20% rule came along. That does not affect the girls who do sessions or sell things on the web by being massive. They don't have an issue with sponsors. Their sponsors are their clients and most of those people want them huge. They just have to be careful to not get caught using PEDS. In the mainsteam sports...they are looking and they are testing. Even blood now. There is zero testing in sessions or for having a website.

The fed angle is mainly towards dealers like any other sweeps on arrests. The Feds want the bookie. They don't want to arrest the guy making the bets. The Feds want the guy who's making lots of money selling pot or coke. They are not after the person who is using or buying a quarter ounce or dime bag of weed. That is misdemanor that cops step into. The other is a felony....dealing and you are looking at jail. The same is true with roids. The danger is in that some bodybuilders or people very close to them are dealing the roids b/c it is an expensive habit. Sherry Smith was arrested with a moderate amount of roids....not dealing level, but more than a light user. She was lucky her firefighting unit had a very strong union or she was out of work. Colette Nelson's hubby had a houseful of PEDs and just pleaded to jail and is now out. She was not arrested or even home when they swarmed. She moved in with him after he was a dealer. Draw your own conclusions at to why.

I think the sport will keep being steroids and it will basically go even more to the cult side. I'm not as close to it now as I was a few years back, but I would imagine even the physique girls are using some decent amount of PEDs. The IFBB just wants to make the few fans left think they are cleaning it up a little is my perception. The Feds could care less about bodybuilding. The sports they are after and the war on roids is only tied to bodybuilding b/c many bodybuilders have been busted as top dealers....a big one in the Texas case with Clemens and Pettitte. They were using a top 5 Mr Olympia to buy drugs. That is how he got famous.....in that arrest. He was a huge dealer....millions of dollars of PEDS in his home.

They are after football, baseball, and mainstream sport use. MMA is getting big. What if someone hurts someone bad on roids? They are checking sports like that....where the competitive advantage gained results in stolen money by players who over achieve or perhaps in football....an injury. We've also seen the teen suicideswith football players and their parents go to congress and blame roids. The kid changes on roids they say. I would agree, though I never saw anyone go to shoot hemelves due to roids. Who knows in young bodies and the results you see are so fast that it causes more than a physical addiction. You look in the mirror and say holy crap. I remember not taking roids and saying that when I lifted and saw other guys my size that were 6-4 235 and mostly muscle go to 265 fast. That can not happen without roids. I took awhile to get to 240  from 235.  I was more speed and instinct than size tho....my size was not big for football. If I had known that roids also made you faster.....who knows...I may have jumped in myself. I was not aware of that. I learned soon after and thought the speed was really just the roids working to make you more agressive. Roids nowadays are much better than they used to be and harder to detect, but you still need hormones. You need testosterone and too much of that changes men and women permanently.....plus it stops any natural production of T. Dangerous if your body stops making it at age 30...for men. That is why many baseball players were nailed not by roids, but by taking the banned fertility drug that men take when testosterone was needed for them to have any sexual desire left.

Biggest influencer of the whole US roid movement? Jose canseco by a mile. His book was a game changer. Turned out almost every person he named was caught. Even Raffy Palmeiro who wagged his finger at congress and said how dare anyone accuse him of cheating. He was caught and his career ended about 5 games later after he tried to play with earplugs at home. He lost all his ensdorsements. He was the first ever face of Viagra sales ironically. He needed it.

Yes, it will stay in bodybuilding and fbbing and to a lesser extent sessions would die without it. Sad, but true. I've studied and been around PEDs my whole life as an adult. I don't mean at fbb shows or with fbbs though I've seen plenty of those girls. Some look ok still and sound ok....others.....kind of disturbing. They don't even seem like women. Even the ones who looked good to me often told me or admitted their use to others. Colette told the whole world after she told us that knew her a little. She went on the Gumbel show and boy did he make FBBs look like freaks. Even Colette said they are "addicts" to their bodies. She talked about the need to look in the mirror and see more.

LBC
Some very excellent points and well said.  Whether it be BB, baseball or monster/horror flicks...the people crave more.  The crowds cheer for more.  The contestants respond to the crowd's cheer.....and the bar is raised.  For as long as there's one PED pill or injection to be found...it will be used with regard to BB.    Just is.  Does that marginalize those who choose to train natural?  No....there are natural BB contests just  for that purpose.  Do they ring the bell as loudly as the mainline contests?....no.  To  that I say...oh well.   Maybe better actually.....LOL.  Gets to motive.  Why are you training and competing?

Extremely lean pics of Alison. Small waist with a wide back. Much different than what we see in fbbing now....which is PED enhanced of course.

Sad but true.  That said it would be cool if there could be some naturals that came out of the woodwork and made a statement.  It can be done...there's naturally big girls out there that can put on mass with heavy training , nutrition and determination.
I was pondering where our heads were at back in my day.  We had no real mega female role models...we ( at least I did) looked at the men.  I admired Frank Zane for example.  I personally hungered for every new mag that came out with a new muscular woman.  New forms...new challenges.  Legs were getting bigger and more cut.  It was all new.  Now, if I were coming out of the shoot today and starting to lift with the thought of becoming a real FBB, I'd be looking at a pic of Iris Kyle.  As a rank beginner, she would be in some other galaxy to me.  I can see how a girl might think that PEDs were essential to "getting there".  Different head...ya know?   It's really the excitement of your own personal adventure that brings the joy ...and not so much reaching other worldly perfection that's actually beyond what a body can do all on it's own with effort.  ( but that's just me....)

This side chest pose of you on the right is quite remarkable Alison! Not a compulsary in the true contest sense, but compulsive viewing. I hope you won't be offended that my eyes have almost come out of their sockets, I had not seen this post. Phew! I'll have to have a cup of tea, now...
