Any idea when the list of competitors will come out for this show? I’ve got it on my calendar to attend! (First time pro show)

Maria Mikola may have retired, sadly. I think she said she was thinking about that last year and she hasn't been heard from this year. Hopefully she hasn't.
Sheila Bleck has won this show 3 times already and I think she's already qualified for Rising Phoenix due to her placing in 2018, so she might not feel the need to do this again.

IMPORTANT: Does anyone know what day the IFBB Pro Female Bodybuilders are competing? I checked the website, and they've made a mistake there.
They provide the schedule for the San Antonio Pro, which takes place a week later in a different state! :(
So if anyone knows what the actual Tampa Pro schedule will be (particularly for the female bodybuilders), please let us know -- thanks.

However, they don't indicate what time prejudging will begin for women's bodybuilding on Friday August 2.
In the oast it started late, around 12 noon or so.
However, it might be different this year. Anyone know? TIA

Helle Trevino, Tara Silzer, and Kristina Mendoza(in her Pro debut) are all confirmed. Lisa Cross has said she's in contest prep, she hasn't said what show but Tampa is the only one that makes sense. I'd be shocked if we didn't see Kim Buck, Irene Anderson, Isabel Turrell, Janeen Lankowski. Not to mention whoever doesn't get the qualifying points they're hoping for in Norfolk. And there are always surprises. Chicago had 16 competitors, and Tampa is always bigger, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw 20-25 women competing in bodybuilding. Which is just awesome.

I'm going to go crescendo, don't blame me, but it will be a way to hear news from some great athletes that we would like to admire much more often on stage'n elsewhere.

IT seems that Carla MARIA should participate to her 1st pro show ! She told that she was at the end of her prep she was excited & she mentioned the problem of mass & harmony in nowadays standars… but seemed to be going through it well!

There is always a unexpected, delightful surprise at one of these shows. I remember in 2014 Mimi Jabalee came out of nowhere, sporting a spectacular physique.
We could see that this year. Who knows? Sarah Hayes? Tina Chandler? Shannon Courtney. A Ghost from August Past.

One Brazilian i wanna see is Selma Labat. She came with so much fire and dropped off the face of the earth.
She retired from competition a couple years ago. Mentioned wanting to get off the drugs as the main reason.

Who knows, but that’s cool that she’s back. Should also add that it’s really nice to see Khala Bullemor competing, as I believe she was ill with Lyme disease for awhile.
Also, I believe Silvia Matta will be competing even though her name isn’t on that list.

I cannot make an outstanding list because the ladies who made this sport are legion and create its identity. Imagine the story of Miss Olympia without Lenda Murray's Comeback.
I guess some of them have really taken their retry or a sabatic year in order to prepare for next season. But who are they? Don't they have plans that go on for several years! If you know more, please mention them. Perhaps it is the suspense inherent in this feminine sport, the mystery that women's bodybuilding gives us and which makes it its spice? Hope remains for these powerful talented women. If you have any info, thank you in advance. :thanks:

I thought they were resting and then preparing to train their young pro card. As an accomplishment for these two young veterans always as pretty and beautifully muscular!

Plenty of women have done that. Carla Rossi got her pro card at Nationals in 2015. Then she never competed again. Same thing with Amanda Dunbar back in 2005, though she may have done one figure or physique show many years later. Kris Murrell in 2009 is another example. Won Nationals and never competed again, and I think she was still fairly young.
The pro card really isn’t the holy grail some people think it is. Competing is a hard lifestyle without a lot of reward.

The field appears pretty weak, except for Jody May making a comeback, interesting. And what is the deal with Kahla Bullemor?
I thought she was bed ridden with Lyme disease? Bizarre.

Weak? You have Tischa, Irene and Nataliya Kovalyova, three girls who competed in Romania. As far as I can see, the Kovalyova has had a great progress in 2019, she could be the black horse. Regarding the other girls, be open for surprises. Anyway, some of the biggest start are already qualified for RisingPhoenix, so they dont bother to come to Tampa
Yeah I agree with you that that is probably not a full list. We will get a better idea of the field by the middle of this week.
When I say "weak" though, I mean it is field that doesn't get me very excited. I mean you want to see a 50 year old Irene Andersen who's been competing since'the beginning
of time and this is also probably her 4th or 5th show this summer?
However, Jody May in that field makes it worth the price of admission alone. She is a legendary beauty, and I've never seen her compete as a pro. It is going to be amazing
to see her as a hulking, stud bodybuilder.
So it may be a "weak" field overall, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't attend the show. To see Jody May alone should make your summer!

At more than forty years old, it is obvious that these girls are at the top of their form, after more than 20 years lifting tons and tons of cast iron! That's why comebacks are common. They are mature, understand their bodies by heart. They are always more beautiful and what professionalism n sensuality! to the tip of their fingernails.
Alina, her sisters of sweat and iron, could continue for another 15 years... Remember the immense, literal and figuratively,
BETTY PARISO, :heart: with her angel face overhanging her titanic sexy body... more than 50 when she retires?...
The big ribs or big "surprises" announced: Nataliya, Flora, Kahla, Tisha, Pauline, anyway, in any case, even if I'm wrong, there will be a NEW Queen in Tampa!

recovered from her illness) its a pretty weak field. Just lacks the big stars that years past have had (eg. 2015: Jay Fuchs, Lisa Geisbrecht,
Monique Jones, Aleesha Young, Mimi Jabalee, Lisa Cross -- now THERE is a strong lineup).

Kahla, I do not know why, it is certainly the domain of the irrational, but is n't the Female Bodybuilding sometimes and rather often irrational and that the irrational therefore exists, and that it is part of the Rational, in short... I tell myself that this disease was an evil for a good, hope is a value of female Bodybuilding, isn't it. So a ticket to the miraculous and magnificens Australian valkyrie.

But be warned. There is private detective who wanders the auditorium looking for people taking unauthorized photos / videos.
Bald African-American guy probably in his early 50s, over 6ft. The guy is a real d*ck and NOT a fan of women's bodybuilding.
He thinks fans of the sport are all pervs. He kicked me out a couple of years ago for taking vids of some of the physique girls.
So be on your guard...

That's really kind of annoying, if you are attending the show. Saturday will be PACKED because 1) people are off work, and 2) mens bodybuilding
is on Saturday also, which the majority of fans come to see.
They USED to schedule women's bodybuilding on Friday, which was great -- small crowd, great seats @ prejudging, chance to mingle with the ladies
in the auditorium afterwards.
Anyway, prejudging should be cool at least -- less people there. Forget the evening show. It will be standing room only.

I heard from a competitor that there was a big flap about it a few years ago at the Tampa. FBB was scheduled for Saturday, then it got pushed to Friday and none of the FBBs were happy about that. They felt they were being “downgraded” in status and they spoke up about it and it got moved back to Saturday.

You make a good point. It's just from an fbb fan's perspective, when the event was scheduled on Friday, it was a lot more fun.
See what a tricky calculus this is? Friday competition allows the pro women to have their own day, yet some % of them feel that it's a "downgrade", even though some % of fans prefer having this format, because it increases their enjoyment of the event...but would likely mean fewer attendees.
I can't tell you what the right (or best) answer is.

O0 Considering what I see here and on Maximum Muscle Report, Helle has the ascendancy thanks to an incredible back and buttocks, where Pauline fishes. Helle's silhouette is more feline, sensual. Pauline seems harder and stronger but seems to lack definition in the legs and buttocks compared to Helle, but what pecs, whew! I'm also afraid that Tischa won't be rewarded for her true worth! What a pity!
LaDawn is at a very, very good level.

I think Kahla got robbed she looks in amazing condition. Physique results is a head scratcher too. Must be so confusing for these ladies. I thought a lot of the ladies deserved higher ex Lee ann T, and Pat Goss. I thought Jeanie Feldman was winner. Sheila is great but she still looks like a BB? Anyone else think so? Congrats to her she did look great but I thought Jeanie had a great V taper and great condition.
Dasunka Dawson..OMG did anyone notice her legs!? She had a huge hamstring that looked massive! Never seen before. Amazing.

:) Sheila made us lie. She won the title in the other category, it makes her an all-time record, but wasn't it easier?
I thought younger, less muscular girls would stand in her way, than NO! The gaps narrowing between the different categories, Sheila's victory, less massive and hard, seemed inevitable even if others could have made her sulk her pleasure
I am delighted for her, but much less so for the future of Women's Bodybuilding. Overall, bodybuilders are less impressive and Physiques are a little more bodybuilder, so much so that the first in the Physique ranking would earn half of women bodybuilders this night. Not necessarily the most poorly ranked Bodybuilders, but on the contrary some very well ranked.
Female bodybuilding makes itself sick by smoothing its image so much! It borders on anorexia.
So many Competitors in Physique, so much that could cross the threshold. Is such an imbalance of forces uneasy? The final ranking attests to this. The leading trio cannot be questioned, however the general hierarchy of the competition is largely distorted. Seeing Irene, among other beautiful muscle women, we may think that an injustice has crept into the basket…
In Tampa, a barrakuda chistled the cracks! And the biggest and most beautiful fishes have escaped... Already Amazonka had remained in the cold seas. Now beautiful and titanic women like Tischa remain docked. Congratulations to all the women who are victims of these political choices and especially to the podium that does not demerit. Courage to the beautiful disappointed and the magnificent losers. Well done to all of you! We love you all! :singing: :heart:

A few extra pounds of hard muscles and a more unbridled vascularity could lead her to the highest steps in Phoenix, right?... Let's say, with more intellectual honesty in judgments... If she progresses at this rate, she may well rank in Phoenix as well. Back to her best level maybe better... Janeen is really exciting and yet she doesn't play it, but that's the way it is. The ultimate athlete! She makes bodybuilding as a sport of very very high level, without complacency, to the bottom! Janeen, you're too beautiful! And those Hard Ripped Huge PECS! What a butt! On the other hand, when I see the pictures of Irene, I do not lose, she deserved much better!

They've release a lot more footage on youtube. Micheala ran away with this show. Helle looked VERY impressive, but Micheala had Helle's conditioning
PLUS a much more pleasing package -- the broad shoulders and huge chest tapering down to a tiny waist and sleek legs. Micheala basically didn't
win because she was the unknown commodity. But that won't be the case any more.

Michaela increased muscle on her upper body a lot in the last year. It wasn't long ago that she was physique.
If she can make those gains in her legs, she will be awesome.

4th Irene ANDERSEN. I think there will be a lot of detractors, but it's definitely a top in her long career. :heart:

1. Micheala Aycock: clearly the best athlete on stage. Ok, her legs could use a little more size, but you can overlook that given
her flawless conditioning, impressively tapered physique and attractive grooming. Again, I think she was overlooked by the judges
only because she wasn't a "known commodity".

5. Silvia Matta: I actually thought she looked pretty good. Not in her best shape, like the Puerto Rico Pro last year, but nonetheless she
presented a competitive physique.

8. Kahla Bullemor: I'm sorry, I'm going to sound a little harsh here. She did not look good by her very lofty standards. Remember in 2014, when
she rocked the bodybuilding world with her dynamite conditioning and stunning good looks? Well, the looks are still there, but the conditioning was well
off, and her physique was just not that impressive. And she looked tired and lethargic throughout. She would have been much better served taking
a couple years off after illness, and then, once she was fully recovered, trying to mount a comeback then.

I don't understand Mary Cain's strategy.
The FTv videos in early season could suggest that Mary was at the end of gaining weight, that she was going to start a diet in order to compete harder as she once was. Well, right? Like some other competitors, she appears in a smooth or even a little round and academic-old-school form. This seems to be an aesthetic choice rather than a preperation error.
Do you think they could have been misdirected?
However, looking at the recent competitions in recent years, there is every reason to believe that hardness and definition are the order of the day, notably in the lower part of the body and in its median.
By the way, Helle and Pauline have abs, adductors, lower belly and thightops that are incredible definition and pure muscles. Hmm, so hot and hard!

THE WAY Kahla-love- managed to work her shoulders, back, arms and pecs, the face, the orientation, upper body (and maybe even her general form -not in the details, we'll see where later) is among the most harmonious in this art :-*
and makes kind of school for future contenders for supreme titles.
Don't forget. She had been seriously ill before! Besides, good recovery and good health Kahla. God help you.

At the top, I think Kahla would have shoulders, pecs and a denser back than Pauline. Thicker, she'd move grand pianos. Her skin so thin would become translucent making a show of her striations and her veins constantly twirling. I agree but The question is, didn't SHE deserve better?
And, in a subordinate way, why such a frantic plebisite for Michaela? Again, it is not to denigrate Michaela, but indeed, she objectively lacks mass especially in the legs despite a canon definition and an undeniable beauty... she did too; like the aforementioned unfortunate Australian.

Jody May is not a REAL bodybuilder, she only got into training a few years ago because one of our British TV company's wanted to do a programme about her doing it, she has never really trained properly since. She is an overhyped nobody.
