Supergirl's "NEW" unitard costume

I see Kara gets a "NEW" Costume in the next season according to the previews.  "NEW"  Not on your lives, the Unitard worn by Superman and now Supegirl was introduced 48 years ago. Back in 1970, Supergirl became the lead in Adventure Comics and the Legion of Superheroes took being the backup strip in Action Comics.  In issue (s) 397 - 415  The artist of the book had a contest for different costumes for the "Girl of Steel" resulting in her hot pants outfit.  In Adventure #413/414  (1971)  Bob Oksner introduced the new season Unitard outfit. Just goes to prove there is NOTHING new under the sun.

For what I read somewhere else on the Internet, the main cause was the show changed filming locations, the new one being in a much colder weather. Melissa Benoist complained about her freezing her legs using panties, and this gave birth to the idea of updating her costume once again.

That costume historically only lasted two issues before the moved too the Hot Pants outfit she was known for until she  changed to the red mini-skirt in the Daring NEW adventures of Supergirl #13 before the Crisis on Infinite Earths.  One more thought I liked the comment "I've got pants!".  A bit of Comic relief from Kara. I also read that with the Crisis coming to the WB superhero shows Power Girl may be introduced.

Yeah, Canada is a little colder than LA (where the first CBS season shot). Melissa has been asking for pants for years.
