During my competition years 79-83 I worked as a nurse on the 11-7 night shift in a little Hawaiian hospital on the North Shore of Hawaii.  (pic here of me showing my nursey leg with a nurse friend).   When I worked ER I'd get into these conversations on lifting with the policemen who would come with patients sometimes.  It was these policemen who helped me build my gym.  They would tell me where the bent over stop sign pipes were!   They even had me come work out with them at the police station...LOL  !   Great guys...and just one part of my adventure.

Bill and I have always enjoyed travel from when we first married some 42 years ago.   There was time where we actually lived in the mountains of southern Colombia close to a really neat indian group.  We hiked and as well got to the coast where we began to surf.  Ultimately we ended up living in Hawaii so we could surf in the day and work at night.  We did that for our entire adult life !  We retired in 2007...sold everything and packed up and left to the mountains of Central America where we purchased a home.  We will spend the rest of our life here, God willing.   We LOVE to travel still.   Once a year we take a trip somewhere.   This picture was in Guatemala.  Next trip will be back to the coast  of Ecuador on a surf vacation for a month.   Great surf there !  That's where I learned back in 1974.....

Great for eliminating hip flexors and you get a quad buzz as an extra



...and if you have a mirror close, it's a great way to cut your hair.  I did it that way for years !

The only recent ones on this page I'm either hiding behind a bush or covered up in a surfsuit and helmet...LOL

This one's more recent.  This is the home of a family my husband and I help.  12 people living in 15X20 feet  ( which includes bathroom & kitchen) on a dirt floor , no windows.   Makes ya REAL thankful for simple things we take for granted.  Wonderful folks they are...and like our own family.
