Do You Know How To Download Video From other sources of video on the web?

NOT YouTube or, daily motion!!

Like tv stations, local and big sites like fox news and cnn and other news video channels with video embedded in stories on line?  Or any site that real player does not work on for downloads!   

I cant find any software that works on those sites now a days?   Any info on this subject would be great!!   

QuickTime player has a screen recording feature.  I use it to make a 'first draft' of a vid until I find a DL'er that will do it.  That way if it gets taken down before you get it DL'ed, you still have something...
