Is something fishy going on?

Can't help but wonder if there's something fishy going on at last year and this year's Asian and World Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championships.  Last year and this year you had the same contestant competing in two different height classes and weight classes.

Last year, Roongtawang Jindasing competed in physique 160cm+ class and again in the 160cm class.  Did she become taller one day after competing?

This year you had You Mi Hee compete in both 49kg and 52kg.  Did she suddenly gain 3 kg one day after competing in the 49kg class?  I doubt it.  So how can she be allowed to compete in two classes?  That's like allowing Mike Tyson to compete in heavyweight and flyweight!!  Its not fair!!

And what about Roongtawan Jindasing competing in physique 155cm+ and 165cm+?  Did she experience a growth spurt and grow 10cm taller one day after competing in the 155cm class?  Again I doubt it, so what's with allowing this?

If the organisers wants to allow competitors to compete in multiple events then get rid of the weight and height classes.  If you are going to have them, then at least follow them.

Seems to me that there is favoritism being shown towards certain competitors.

Ah yes. That is the federation started by Paul Chua, the disgraced former IFBB Vice-President. Many FBBs were disgusted with that contest and yes, the contestants in question were allowed to choose what they wanted. The IFBB has now been re-established in most Asian countries, with a few more yet to join.

Underdeveloped FBB federations for underdeveloped countries. Makes sense to me.

Poorly judged contests discourage athletes in competition. Well judged and well run contests encourage more Asian women to join bodybuilding contests, thus increasing the sport's popularity. There are a number of women in Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore who train for bodybuilding, but who don't or rarely compete due to the lack of well run contests or a well run federation. Sometimes these women give up training due to discouragement at the lack of good competitions. I have seen this occur with a few Asian female athletes.
