Susan had been competing in the Washington, DC, area in the mid-1980s, and after several local wins went 'national' in 1988, taking the sport by storm with a level of hard, chiseled muscularity rarely seen at that time, and her good looks also made her an instant fan favorite. She won the Junior Nationals in 1988 and not long after that, she won the Nationals, earning her IFBB pro card. For this video, we had two sessions with her in 1988- in top contest shape using our pro equipment, then in somewhat off season shape 'on location' in Fredericksburg, Virginia, using our camcorder. Gymwork in contest shape and interview included, then lots of posing in many outfits.

Are you SURE that the person that competed in 2005 and 2011 is THIS Susan Myers? There is a Susan Myers that has competed in fitness but it's gonna be a hard sell to tell me it's the same woman.

I have no way of knowing one way or another.  If she was 23 in 1988 in the Jr Nationals, then she’d be over 45 in 2011, so it is possible.

It could be the same person, or it could be three different people.  They are just names on contest ranking sheets.

We met Susan Myers in 1988 at the DC Grand Prix contest, a show held mainly for residents of that area -- Susan was from Maryland. At that time it was difficult to meet a newcomer that good even at the top national shows, so it was astonishing to meet a "state of the art" physique at a local show. It is also hard to believe she was only 26 years old at this time, as the 5'2" 120 pounder was dense with muscle and ripped. At that time many women had chiseled upper bodies, but there were very few who had this kind of muscle shape and definition in the thighs. We had three video sessions with her in 1988 -- one was the day after the show when she was in fabulous shape, then some at the 1988 Junior Nationals and finally we had a tandem camcorder session with Sharon Marvel, at a river setting (when both were off-season) -- all are included on this DVD. Susan quickly won the National Shows and competed as a pro for a few years into the early 1990's, before fading from the scene. In the late 80's, it would be hard to point to another woman who had Susan's combination of unreal physique and very cute looks.
