Very sad.  She was one of the most beautiful and gifted bodybuilders in her day.  Tough loss.

I am shocked and heart broken to hear ( albeit late ) of Laura's passing.   As a nurse, I understand depression but I have just this horrible lump in my throat  about it all with Laura.  I had a dear friend as well depart this way amidst the COVID isolation.  I feel guilty for not being acutely aware of my dear friend's internal sadness that brought about her demise. 
Hug a friend. 
Life is worth living.....lets help one another stay on course.

 .... This is heartbreaking to see here. I'm deeply sorry to hear this about America's finest. Laura Bass was quite a beautiful Olympian. With all the great successes in her fitness career like so many stars in the industry, it's easy to think they have everything going their way for them.  ... My dear God ... this is truly heartbreaking ...

These female bodybuilders are in the "limelight" and their bodies are in peak condition and beautiful for a time while they are competing.

I think that when they retire or stop competing all of the sudden they are out of the "spot light" and most of them don't maintain their

beautiful muscular physiques.  And I think that in that process they "lose themselves" so to speak.  They lose their identity in a way and it's

very hard for them to transition into another area of life that fulfills them and gives them meaning they way bodybuilding did.  They become

very isolated and prone to depression.  This may have been the case with Laura Bass.

Regardless we miss her.
