Lauren Danielle Drain is an American fitness model, personal trainer, author and nurse. She was a member of the Westboro Baptist Church and one of its few members not related to the Phelps family.
Lauren's father Steve Drain was an atheist when he decided to film a documentary critical of the church. Eventually he became a fervent believer and his entire family joined him him into the church. Lauren was a member of WBC from 2001-2008 when she was excommunicated shortly before her 22nd birthday for questioning the church's doctrine. She has not spoken to any members of her family since then.
Drain worked as a nurse for nine years before deciding to pursue fitness modelling and working as a personal trainer. She also works to help other former WBC members get back on their feet after leaving the church.
