This is what I never quite understood about contest prep.  For so many competitors, in the 2-4 days before contest they look amazing, hard and full.  Then the day of they look deflated, smooth and sometimes drawn.  Look at the photos of Shannon.  In the first two she looks hard, vascular and almost superhuman.  Then in the following pics during the weigh ins she looks soft.  Maybe she will carb up and look full tomorrow or maybe it's tonight but she doesn't look anywhere as near bullet proof.  Maybe the lighting is a factor as well but something just doesn't seem right in the process.

A few pics from the finals.  Dunno if it's the lighting here or some of the "tricks of the trade" where they fill out a bit for the evening but I think she looks good here.  She's dryer and harder than in prejudging.
