Oh she was attractive but I think that fitness competitors spend more time in the gym than she did.

“Kris Alexander – A Competitor Worth Revisiting?”

Kris Alexander isn’t a name that comes up often anymore.

But looking back, there may have been more there than people remember.

Was she:

- Overlooked?
- Or just not consistent enough to stand out?

Post anything you’ve got — photos, placements, comparisons.

English:
Yes, to me Kris Alexander does deserve to be remembered, though more as a representative figure of an important phase in women’s bodybuilding than as a historic elite competitor. She did not leave major Olympia results — she placed 22nd at the 1985 Ms. Olympia — but she remained connected to a very important moment because she was one of the featured athletes in Pumping Iron II: The Women, a key film in the visibility of women’s bodybuilding in the 1980s.

My feeling is that she was not so much an “overlooked” athlete as a competitor who became more memorable for the context and image of that era than for a truly dominant contest record. And that still has value. Sometimes an athlete does not need a huge list of titles to remain tied to an important moment in the sport. Maybe not a major competitive legend, but definitely a valid and worthy presence to remember.

Kris Alexander is a good example of someone who sits in that “there was something there… but it never fully materialized” category.

Looking back at her:

• Solid structure and proportions
• Moments where she showed real competitive potential
• A look that could hang in lineups—but didn’t always command them

Was she overlooked?
A little—but not dramatically.

She had enough quality that, in the right show or with the right peak, she could look better than her placing. But it wasn’t something she brought consistently enough to force the judges’ hand.

Consistency is really the key here:

• At her best → you could see a top-callout level physique
• At other times → slightly off in conditioning or fullness, which matters a lot in close lineups

And in deeper eras, that kind of variability is the difference between:
→ being remembered
→ or blending into the pack over time

Did she have a standout trait?
Not quite—and that’s part of it.

• No single body part or look that made you go “that’s her immediately”
• More of a well-rounded competitor than a specialist

So I’d sum it up like this:

• Overlooked? → Slightly
• Inconsistent? → Yes, and it mattered
• Worth revisiting? → Definitely

She’s one of those athletes where, when you go back through photos, you find a few looks and think:
👉 “If she brought that version consistently, we’d be talking about her very differently.”

Would be great to see some of her best condition shots posted—those are where her potential really shows.
